Rugby 2012 player ratings? Players with 99

woah ! holding a grudge on a forum now are we ?

It's hardly a grudge. It's a fair question. If they give Lomu a 98 rating that'd be totally ridiculous. He's retired. Would you agree with giving Jeremy Guscott, Tana Umaga or Keith Wood 95?

Technically Lomu isn't retired because he plays for a lower league team in France,
However this means that Jason Robinson and Will Greenwood should be in it too, as they both still play 'socially'

hahaha 'socially'. I'd say the opposing teams are ******** themselves. Especially with Robinson. I'd say he's still cracking. I love that guy. I just wanna give him a hug.

36 now, but still got "it", by all accounts.
I remember hearing, when he became coach at Sale, that he was still faster/more agile than most of the players there. And he had a good game at the Help for Heroes thing last year 'n' all

The league he plays in has Loughborough University in as well - imagine being 19 and going up against Jason Robinson

Castro is quite clearly alot better than any of the new zealand props....as Dan Cole dominated at the weekend and Castro keeps him out the team. Castro is the beswt prop in the world, apologies for assuming it was made in the south, the accuracy of the players was far greater for the super14 teams which is what made me think that.

The accuracy of the players in the South wasn't any better actually.. You seem so one eyed that you wouldn't realise however...

Shouldn't we be rating them when they were in their "prime" like what FIFA does with their classic teams?

Rating them in their prime is a good idea but I dont want to see any retired players in Rugby 2012 unless there is some sort of a classic XV

If they include a "Classic Teams" mode then the retired players stats should be based from when they were in their prime, but current players who WERE great players should be based on their current ability.
eg. Tana Umaga will be playing for the Chiefs next season but there's no way that his rating should be any higher than 85... There's a bunch of ex-All Blacks players that are playing for franchises all over the world like Leon MacDonald, Jerry Collins, Carlos Spencer, Andrew Merhtens... just to name a few, and these guys are well passed their prime, it would be silly to give them such high ratings. They are definitely still quality players but Spencer was 99 in rugby 06 and now he'd be lucky to get more than 75

Oh the delicious irony

I could say the same about you mate.. You were the one that heralded Australia as **** a few days before the beat the All Blacks. Maybe if you payed a bit more attention to whats going on outside of your own poxy island you would know whats actually going on..

Awful aggressive altogether. I feel threatened

Players shouldn't be restricted to certain positions, having 'preferred' positions could give them a slight ratings boost when they're playing there but they shouldn't be incapable of playing outside this position.
But maybe there should be a 'Front Rower' Attribute... Playing in the front row is a pretty specialist role and if the players are unsure of how to do this it can be very dangerous! If you have too many injuries in your squad and are forces to play someone who wouldn't normally play in the front row as a prop or hooker the scrums should become "Golden Oldies" (No contesting) this doesn't happen often at test level but it does sometimes...

Just a thought

I love it when old threads get bumped. Beauties like this get popped up.

Irony within irony. I would have missed it n'all. Good on you "Dan the Man" for bumping the thread!

Just an idea they could add experiance to a players attributes or special abilities
e.g Tana Umaga's experiance would be 90-100.
This may improve the whole rating of the team due to their experiance
Also add under special abilities offloading.
