The hotel stairs should really be cited for that. Direct contact to the head with force. They can claim excessive alcohol consumption as mitigation but they're looking at a three week ban minimum IMO.

Ive watched several of these and he always defends the refs no matter how big a mistake they made. When Steward got sent off for that incident against Ireland in the 6 nations Owens said the ref was correct, though world rugby later overturned the decision.
