Springbok Squad for June Tests 2018

Also what about the Bulls captain, Burger Odendaal? I'd have thought that a Super Rugby Captain would be in the national side.

Nah, he's way down the pecking order. Here's how I see the 12 pecking order for the Boks:

1. Frans Steyn
2. Damian De Allende
3. Rohan Janse van Rensburg
4. Francois Venter
5. Andre Esterhuizen
6. Handre Pollard
7. Juan De Jongh
8. Harold Vorster
9. Burger Odendaal

This is of course my personal point of view, and may differ from other posters.

When you look at it like that, I have great hope for the Boks. Given the strength in depth they have they will be serious challengers for the 2019 and 2023 RWC.

Yup, although Rassie is taking 26 guys to the USA, so 3 guys are just going as back-up so they could also feature. But its hard for me to see PSDT also not starting against England...
Maybe he comes off the bench for the first test.

I definitely rate Esterhuizen more highly than you do. I won't get into the F Steyn debate again but I'd rather he play from 23 if at all.
Rohan and Conbrink just can't seem to find any form sadly.

Combrinck is coming back from injury. Rohan appears to have become obsessed with doing weights at the expense of cardio

He's been back since round 8 of SR.
I think it's fair to say he's out of form, not just coming back from injury.

Yeah Combrinck is a bit out of form. He needs to sharpen his defences as well.

As for Rohan, it's second year syndrome after a very lengthy layoff as well as that whole hostage situation in his house last year. He needs some rest, and have to shake off the cobwebs. He is certainly a bit more bulky.

This was my predicted lineup for the Wales game, the bolded players was the ones i correctly predicted to start
Only mistake was thinking that Gelant would start over Bosch, and then i said that the battle between Wright and Van Zyl will be determined in training.

15. Gelant (Bulls)
14. Mapimpi (Sharks)
13. Kriel (Bulls)
12. Esterhuizen (Sharks)

11. Ismaiel (Bulls)
10.Jantjies (Lions)
9. Wright (Sharks)
or Ivan van Zyl depending on who impresses most in training
8. Dan du Preez (Sharks)
7. Mohoje (Cheetahs)
6. Kwagga (Lions)
5. PSDT (Captain) (Stormers)
4. Jenkins (Bulls)
3. Wilco Louw (Stormers)
2. Chiliboy Ralepelle (Sharks)
1. Ox Nche (Cheetahs)
