Last grass pitch before desso goes on next season by the sounds of it.

Supposedly Bath have taken quite a big step forward in their efforts to get planning permission for The Rec!

Do you happen to know what kind if capacity the proposed new stadium will have Rats?

Info on the first page. ;)

Bath - The Rec

  • Will have an extra 2000 temporary seats added for the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons - for a capacity of just under 14,000.
  • Close to 7,000 season tickets have been sold - breaking the old record of 6,200.
  • Planning permission still pending on the 16,500 seat redevelopment. If granted it should look a little like this:

So it's not that much bigger (although a very reasonable boost - 5k more than the normal configuration), but the facilities would be a significant improvement to say the least.

Essentially they have won a battle that allows the trust that runs the rec itself (the ground not the stadium) to grant the club extra land - which means that planning permission for the above design, which has a larger footprint than the current design, can be applied for.

Sorry came late to story! Thanks!

Looks good.....do you know where the increased numbers are likely to park? Will there be a Park and Ride specific to the matches?

That would look stunning and doesn't do any harm to the surrounding area.

The bath stadium plans looks very Continental.

Very nice.

Can't believe how hard it has been though esp considering it is only for an 14,000 - 16,000 seats.

Bath only really have one sports team and it should be embraced by the council.
