Transfers 2013/14

So Racing-Métro next season.

1. Tonga'uiha/Ben Arous
2. Szarzewski
3. Mujati/Ducalcon
4. Ghezal/van der Merwe
5. Kruger
6. Lauret/Battut
7. Lydiate
8. Cronjé/Matadigo
9. Machenaud
10. Sexton/Wisniewski
11. Imhoff
12. Roberts/Estebanez
13. Chavancy
14. Fall/Andreu
15. Hernández

Looks pretty good. And the side has been on great form the second half of the season, and now they are changing their team quite a bit, and shifting in the Castres coaches. I wonder whether it will work out.

Eamonn Sheridan (centre) & Fergus Mulchrone (centre) : Rotherham Titans ---> London Irish

I expected we'd see Sheridan move sooner or later. Far too good a player to be knocking around the championship for me, just unfortunate that his progress with Leinster was stalled by a horrible spate of injuries. Nice to see another Irish centre knocking about top class rugby, particularly a big one.

That's a lot of foreign players coming into the French domestic league but I guess that's how the top14 works and its still not a patch on RCT. 4 South African payers even if not the best! Happy now to have chosen to follow RM.

London Irish are signing some pretty average players. And considering they have lost Corbisiero, Garvey and Joseph their squad certainly doesn't look to be strengthened from this season's squad.

Tim Streather going to Saracens. Very shrewd bit of business that - proved himself in the Championship, and should be coming into his prime. Having watched Streather play a few times this season he looks like he could potentially make an impact at the top level. Plenty of gas and looks to have a good rounded skill set. Bit of a shame where he's gone really - seems strange for Leicester to have let Sarries pinch him off their doorstep.

Gonzalo Camacho has signed for Leicester, his third Premiership team after Harlequins and Exeter.

This is a big surprise after the big fuss that was made when Leicester didn't offer Agulla a new contract after his best ever season.

Looks like Richard COCKerill has backtracked on these comments made this time last year.

"I took the decision not to renew Horacio's contract about six months ago when I knew that he wasn't going to be here for all of pre-season and large parts of the campaign," he said.

"We offered Marcos Ayerza (who is in the same position as Agulla) a new deal because we think we can replace wingers easier than props.

"Looking forward, we may have six or eight guys away with England's Elite Player Squad next season and we have to make sure that we have some bodies here to play while they are away.

"You simply have to have enough players and, within the salary cap, that is sometimes hard to do.

"Horacio is a very good player and has done well for us, but we need some coverage.

"The reality of it all is that we wouldn't see Horacio or Marcos until December and so tough choices have to be made."

Cockerill said he feared for the future of Agulla and his fellow Pumas playing their league rugby in the northern hemisphere because of Argentina's international commitments.

"The Argentine Rugby Union have not helped their players and have just thought that the (northern hemisphere) clubs would subsidise their players from June to December," said Cockerill.
"They are going to have difficulties because, I imagine, only the top French clubs could afford to do that.
