100%. Had Eddie not been Eddie, Marchant would probably be first choice with another 20 or so caps under his belt.
I’m not thrilled about the potential destination but it’s not Saracens and I would love to have him back in the mix for England.
Part of me does wonder if maybe we're in for Freddie Burns, he's heavily hinted he's playing in England next season
I feel like if it were Worcester they'd have announced it by now - maybe we're waiting for Rob du Preez to be announced by Racing Metro and then we'll announce Marchant and Burns as replacement?
Or maybe he'll go to Newcastle and they're waiting to announce him after the Red Bull deal is done? Considering how much he said he loved Japan, and how he said he could see him ending his career there, it will probably have taken being a starter on some decent money to tempt him away

Looks like Kieran Wilkinson has retired from us due to injury,
And centre Connor Doherty who was on loan to us From sale , and who has been released from Sale this summer appears to be in videos of Pre Season training with us, so must be signing on permanently.

Yeah, it's still to be officially confirmed but that's the story up here. Very sad as we hoped he would be a good option for us at 10.

The Falcons communications officer Mark is great. We're lucky to have him.
But hes made it very clear theres legalities all over so litterally nothing can be said.
Im of the view its a done deal, but the rebranding etc etc is causing time and delicate legal requirements. I also think that Diamond will have been working hard in the back ground and probably already have players signed but will be announced as one big package along with the buy out, season tickets etc etc.

Very true, but you know what fans are like. They can be impatient.
And the very fact that there ARE legalities involved, means that there is substance to it all.
If there were no negotiations, there'd be no legalities, and Falcons would be selling season tickets, and signing players - even if not of the desired quality.
Exactly thats the way many of us are looking at it.
And as theres no relegation im sure the Prem will have happily delayed any deadlines for financial submissions etc

Might be not relegation, but will Falcons have a team by the start of the season?
I mean a lot of free agents about, might not be more than decent prem quality but still plenty of Prem and Champ lads who are without a contract
Would imagine Dimes would prob look at Eastern European and some SH lads who are playing in the Currie cup/NPC
