Another banger decision from the gavel gang
The court's three liberal justices disagreed, saying in a dissent that those passports make transgender people vulnerable to "increased violence, harassment, and discrimination."

"This Court has once again paved the way for the immediate infliction of injury without adequate (or, really, any) justification," Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote, saying the policy stemmed directly from Trump's executive order that described transgender identity as "false" and "corrosive."

Transgender and nonbinary people who sued over the policy have reported being sexually assaulted, strip-searched and accused of presenting fake documents at airport security checks, she wrote.

Senator, who hates the president, and who endorsed the Democrat candidate at the last election, makes bold claim that the mid term trend of oppositiin party doing well against the governnent, is going to continue at next years mid terms...

Well this is pullitzer prize winning journalism. Next week, there are tensions in the middle east hahaha

If you're on the side that had no problem with government agents hiding their identity and utilising force and violence with no justification or accountability, then you're on the side of fascism.

Regardless of the broader justification, I find it staggering hypocrisy that the same people who cried about government overreact and suppression of free speech now wholly embrace exactly that. Law enforcement should be accountable and the fact Republicans in multiple instances are showing they have no issue with unacceptable violence shows once again what ******* hypocrites they are.

But... I'm old enough to remember Antifa, BlackLivesMatter and Covid - when it was peaceful protest and members of the public using a face mask was the sign of fascism

And when being banned by social media sites for breaking the rules was a breach of the 1st amendment but shooting tear gas at protestors and using the tools of government to try to force media into compliance was all fine.

Its a difficult situation though isnt it, the hiding of identity makes absolute sense for officer safety, as isnsome of the privaliged rules they work by, due to the highly contentious and dangerous nature, i think the problem comes with human nature...

A lot of these protestors, especially those who spill over into criminal acts, like Democrat lawmakers have encouraged, and waves of social media posters promoting violence, are of course a serious threat to ICE agents, the reaction of those agents are sometimes justified and sometimes not, but where the line is i dont think there is an answer.

It doesnt help when politicians from both sides fight every single incident like its the end of the constitution.

Look at the Kat Abhgazela (probably butchered her name). A social media influemcer turned politician posting videos of being assaulted and trample with edited clips, claiming to be peacefully protesting while video evidence has her in front of ICE cars in a scrum with a crowd damaging property and trying to get to agents.

The problem is, if face coverings and public ID protections are removed from ICE, agents refuse to do the job, its not worth being doxxed and losing your life for 75k per year, and insuspect thats kind of the point.

Who knows what the answer is, but i would hope it would start with the calming of tensions, hysteria and a reset.... which will never happen from either side.

I'm a few pages behind and I don't with to reread them, but was he really using noncery to make a so called argument against trump's insurrection and/or wish to kill off the two term limit?

So the Democrats have caved in and given Republicans what they wanted and all they get is maybe a vote in what they want in December, which Republicans will either sabotage or ensure they lose, so they actually got nothing.

Yet again showing they have no spine or staying power. In these situations it's always the Democrats who fold.

Agree with portions of this, i dont think anyone thought this battle would be won by Democrats, most of us understand they arent strong, and too many Dems are under scrutiny in their seats, spineless is harsh, id call it a bit empathetic.

But shut downs are always resolved with funding before policy, and well that pokicy argument was always going to put them in a weak position.

You have to admit, Trump was designed for these scenarios, he literally had a 40 day jolly and left the Dems squabble before returning just long enough to hear them concede, or let them know he had more parties and trips to the middle east to get to.

This scenario is the exact frustration i have with the left, we are fractured, we have compiled too many causes that conflict with each other, and too many radicals dictate the narrative. The right wing have the essentials, they are proactive in their narrative, they offer a view and stand by it, the left just react to the right andbits a losing formula.

I dont like Mamdani, but his messaging was clear, he stood for something, and he stood proudly for it, thats why he won over the typical Democrats in Cuomo and Adams.

Really sums up the general feeling and the way Democrats manage to keep ******* off their own base with their cowardice. Last time they worked with the Republicans to get a spending bill through, they got torn to shreds for giving up everything and gaining nothing whilst Republicans happily ride roughshod over absolutely everything. Now they were all fighting talk, until once again their cowardice came to the fore.

Republicans are cowards for not opposing Trump, Democrats are cowards for not opposing Republicans.

They really haven't got a ******* clue. They were riding high on a wave of popular support and now have obliterated that by ******* off their supporters once again.

Hard to disagree with much of thos, except the riding high on a wave of popular support, i dont know where thats come from?

Interesting to hear Kathy Hochuls POV in the last few days...

Free travel seems to have gone up the swanny, as she has refused to look at losing that revenue, and Mamdanis tax the rich ideals have gone up in smoke as she spends the next 12 months of her re election promising no new tax increase to the upper eschelons of New York...

THe free stuff promise has lasted a few days, Mamdani cant do anything single handedly, and Hochul definitely wont do anything for the next 12 months, strange that she backed and endorsed him so vehemently until he won.

I thought he was dead against one country interfering in another's political affairs?

It'll be a sad day for democracy and the justice system in Israel if POTUS can pull strings to get someone in a position of power off the hook for serious corruption charges. Not sure how he can be pardoned when he hasn't even had his day in court yet.
