Wimbledon

Now that was orgasmic!

(Roger's drop to go 0-30 in the 10th)

Roger not happy with losing that first set.
Too many unforced errors, and far too many of them when he had the winning shot on his racquet, but pushed it too hard.

Start of the second, and Roger's upped his game, and Novak is just passively allowing it.
Roger dominant currently, but it's not going to last - surprised it lasted this long already TBH

Utterly demolished him this second set (breaks Novak 3 times!), surely this phase can't push into the third set.

Big drop in form in that second set from Novak. Only won 27% of his first serves in that set. Still game on now. Can Roger capitalise?

Novak's conveniently timed toilet break seems to have done the trick and he's back in the game.

Novak's getting stroppy.
Will he harness it or will it get the better of him? (Usually the former).

Tie break in the third, Roger still peppering his performance with those unforced errors

And the unforced errors carry the day.
The story is all about Roger. Novak's doing what he needs to do, but when Roger controls these he wins, he's failing to control them.

I think that's 4 unforced errors from Roger in both tie breaks, he's fighting those with one hand behind his back.

He needs to come out all guns blazing in the 4th, but this is looking very ominous.

Unfortunately, Roger's game just breaks down in critical moments. Very frustrating. Novak just doubled down and refused to miss in that tie break.

Yup, he plays so close to the edge, when it goes well he's unplayable, but a fine margin to going horribly wrong.

As for the constant conversation of how unhappy Novak is about not being asmliked, they're showing exactly why right now.
When Roger gets the better of Novak, Novak gets stroppy; like he thinks winning (and popularity) is owed to him.
When Novak gets the better of Roger (even more so when Rafa gets the better of Roger), you can see him kicking his lips and working out what to do. He visibly loves it.

One of those makes you popular, the other makes you unpopular.
Rafa is much closer to Roger in this in that role his sleeveless up and goes harder, enjoying the challenge.

Here we go again. I swear Roger doesn't mean to give his fans heart attacks!!

and we are now into a 5th. Very strange match. If it goes 12-12 then it's Novak's match as Roger's game just falls apart in tiebreaks, unless he plays Rafa.

Novak has gifted Roger sets 2 and 4 and just turned up for the tie breaks so far.

Needs to break Novak to win. Can't see him winning a 12-12 tie break.

Break
'just' needs to hold.

For those watching the cricket, that's Roger up 8:7 in the fifth, serving for the match
