I'm sure you could pick a better team than this, but I've picked players who have either had a breakout year (Brussow, Steyn, Roberts), returned to their excellent best (Habana, BOD) or continued being generally awesome (Fourie Du Preez, Botha).

15. Rob Kearney
14. Tommy Bowe
13. Brian O'Driscoll
12. Jamie Roberts
11. Bryan Habana
10. Morne Steyn
9. Fourie Du Preez
8. Jamie Heaslip
7. Heinrich Brussow
6. Rockie Elsom
5. Paul O'Connoll
4. Backies Botha
3. Adam Jones
2. Jerry Flannery
1. Tony Woodcock[/b]
One All Black...how generous.

And that was only because I couldn't think of anyone who'd had a standout year at loosehead and I didn't want to pick another NH player. I could have as easily picked The Beast.

But...yeah come to think of it I'd take Kearney out and put Mils in there. Mils has been by far the AB's best player whenever I watched them this year.

Almost half that team come from 3 countries who've come up with 1 win individually and 1 collectively against SH opposition in the past 12 months.

If it were for a match to play against mars, i would definitely rather have Dan Carter playing for my team than Morne Steyn. Giteau played the whole Super 14, Dan Carter came back from an 8 month injury break played 3 practice games and then outplayed Giteau hands down in his first test match back. He's consistently better than any 10 in test matches... Except maybe Wilkinson. Class is permanent, form is temporary remember.

World XV 2009 to play Mars XV 2009

15. F Steyn
14. N Nalaga
13. B O'Driscoll
12. R Flutey
11. B Habana
10. D Carter
9. F Du Preez
8. F Maka
7. R McCaw
6. H Brussow
5. V Matfield c
4. S Shaw
3. C Hayman
2. W Servat
1. T Woodcock

Reserves: M Medard, J Roberts, M Giteau, J Smith, B Botha, J Smit, A Sheridan

I would have chosen Wilkinson or Morne Steyn at 10 but it would limit my game plan too much. Francois Steyn is in coz' he can kick goals from 60 metres out!!! Giteau totally fell to pieces in the tri-nations against the AB's but he can play half-back ok so he's in. The Fijian wing Nalaga is my wild card, he looks unstoppable in the French league.

Two opensides..? Both of them, fetchers?

Usually that doesn't work, because both fetchers are prone to getting in each other's way, ending up in self-inflicted breakdown chaos.
