The International Court of Justice and the Israeli Supreme Court have both ruled the military occupation of the West Bank is illegal. The Israeli government are actively encouraging the invasion and violence by the Israeli settlers.

This might be true but sorry to sound like a broken record but a leader of a democracy has to consider pesky little things like the views of its citizens and the people they elect to represent them.

I don't believe Hamas do either. It might have helped Hamas if they gave them back. It's what the international community have been asking for ages now.

You also have to asked why they took hostages in the first place. Hamas would have known it broke a number of international laws.

This is ceasefire terms, not ending the war. I'll have to go check but Nets view for 60 day ceasefire was all hostages in one go. Hamas have pretty much put their fingers up to a ceasefire, and rightly so, isrealis are on the streets, Hamas has some leverage

If it's legal absolutely not the police, why do you feel the police need to be involved in every social situation?

Women are not tender little victims who need to be coddled at every awkward social situation, there are clear boundaries set for what is legal and illegal.

The police should not be misallocating recourses, in a borderline entrapment stunt for performative reasons... if the goal is womens safety in public, rapid response times, and reduction in crime is absolutely key, not this trash.

Entrapment law is quite detailed. Briefly the police can't entrap a person into doing a crime they would not have other wise commited. R v Looseley explains it in detail. So no it's not borderline entrapment.

It might surprise you Harry but a lot of police work involves things that don't involve crime.

People leave the police mainly because it turns you negative and cynical.

You very rarely deal with nice things.

Suicides, sudden deaths including children, telling people someone's died, sexual abuse, pedophiles, rape, robbery, serious violence, fatal accidents, self harming, mental health crisis, domestics, removing children from families. Drunk idiots every weekend, watching people die trapped in vehicles, and the list goes on.

As well as probably having a knife pulled on you when back up is 10mins away, being bitten by someone with Hep B, abuse about your family and kids.

I've just scratched the service. Years of that takes it's toll.

So my advice to the anti-police don't bother calling them if you think they are that bad. They're already dealing with enough as it is.

They're not going for a jog though are they? By their own words they are using attractive female officers as bait, lycra them up to entice and reprimand people who say things that are absolutely legal.

Thisnis not policing by consent, as is a huge amount of other police actions, such as knocking doors and warning people who want to protest, or putting up posters saying we are watching what you say, This is fear based policing.

The police have no business policing human interactions, thats for society to sort out, and frankly, for people who claim to be left, it amazes me how often you take opposing stances.

Thats literally my point!!! Society gets to determine whats polite and whats rude, not bait stings by the police.

I'm not sure of this Spencer guy. I've seen him before but he comes across a bit dodge. My spider sense tingles. There's a British military guy (basically a British version of Spencer) who seems more balanced. Can't remember his name, think it's something Fox. Similar background to Spencer in that he teaches at Sandhurst after a good few years serving in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as other places I believe. But at least this other guy has the ability to criticise Israel, this Spencer guy carries on like Israel can do no wrong which is obviously BS. He makes some fair points, though, and he obviously knows military history, or at least sounds like he does from the couple of things I've seen him on.
