A Political Thread pt. 2

WARNING: This will actually drive you nuts

The hand over the face thumbnail nails it.

This might seem far fetched but I'm starting to wonder if Starmer will be leading Labour into the next election. I can see the Tories changing leader at least once before the next GE. There's massive disillusionment with both the main parties and many are under the misapprehension that Farage will save the day.

Also the Reform brand seems to be growing by the day. You could open up Reform hotels in seaside towns and they'd get booked up in no time.

100% agree. In fact I'd put money on the first to radically reform their leadership stands the best chance at challenging reform.

Starmer seems to be digging his own political grave, Badinoch, well no comment, one of my group chats have blown up with reform debate. And this is a 100% labour voting group and they're debating the merits of a one off anti establishment vote!!!

Scary times

Labour have too big a majority for Starmer to go he'd have to take real hammerings at locals and by-elections for it to be even considered. I also can't see a situation where the electoral math doesn'r lead to a left wing majority still.

ie. it would take a lot of data to convince me otherwise for starmer no matter how unpopular he is. Especially 4 years out.

Yeah probably but I don't see him getting more than one more term (with a massively reduced majority) and he probably won't see that out - similar to Blair but one term less.

Personally I don't mind him and would rather have a safeish pair of hands than someone like Boris or Cameron but it's clear that his popularity is only going in one direction and four years is a very long time in politics with an increasingly fickle electorate who are expecting big improvements in very little time.
