Sometimes you speak like you’re a Russian or a ordinary dude living under the CCPI think they've been used as a bogey man for a while, like we dont all have photo ID on a national database lol.
Its online where the problem will come, fist lose anonymity, then the sociql credit score...
No more swearing online, public order offence, at least 4 of you (us)would be in the gulag hahaha
FTFM
I've o problem with them I principle, it's just that the last time it was suggested was (by memory) a terrible implementation at a terrible cost, for no apparent benefit.Really don't see the issue with national ID cards.
I think if it was combined with your passport / driving licence it might be an idea.I've o problem with them I principle, it's just that the last time it was suggested was (by memory) a terrible implementation at a terrible cost, for no apparent benefit.
Blair's lot wanted things like biometric data, and medical history on them (or at least, that was the scare story being out out, in a more innocent age), which was bad.
I still dont see what purpose a national ID card provides though, to be worth the fortune spent bringing one about.
Cost = A lotI think if it was combined with your passport / driving licence it might be an idea.
It would potentially help with fraud, immigration, employment and crime issues.
I agree it would really have to be looked at as cost vs benefit.
That's because he wants to be able to knock one out to AWJ in total anonymity. Without the world knowing his real names Keith born in GloucesterCost = A lot
Benefit = Annoy Harry.

And now you’re rallying against infringements on free speech and overall government control. Jesus, in another 20 years it’ll be even worse. Oh no.Someone told me that about 20 years ago when I railed against CCTV culture, phone tracking systems and meta data collection, ANPR, facial recognition, and more recently predictive policing...
Now look, every single one of those has made us the most surveiled and tracked population the world has ever seen...
But hey, as long as Facebook is still free right.
Indeed, which is why we need to protect democracy at all costs and oppose authoritarianism, right?Im not against ID cards, they already exist in different names, its when biometrics, and your entire history, with predicted law breaking future behaviours all enter the chat is when it gets scary...

I was interested in watching this, I've only managed 30 mins before work but annoyed the boys havnt pushed back a lot more, this could have been a very interesting and informed debate, instead its a bit of a soliloquy so far...
@Welsh Exile - you might like this
I've listened to almost an hour of this and I've yet to hear one single criticism of the Israeli government/IDF.
At least he didn't fail my other test (referring to West Bank as Judea and Samaria)
This is an hour and a half long but the first 30 mins or so is Benny going through BS Israeli talking points. He lost me aboutb20 mins in when he made the claim IDF did not block aid for 3 months at all, it was just 11 weeks
