Auckland to win by 1-12.

Well if Auckland only beat a third or fourth string Reds side by 12 they might have some trouble with New South Wales.

Third or Fourth String reds team, they couldn't field such a team.

Their A team is third or fourth string.

Auckland whack Waratahs
Wednesday July 27 2005
Big second half
After the scores were even at half-time at Central Coast Stadium in Gosford Auckland scored 40 points in the second half to win 50-17.

There were just over eight thousand spectators there on Wednesday evening to see the visitors from New Zealand score seven tries to two.

Flying wing Tony Koonwaiyou was the first to score but Tom Carter's try after a clever diagonal kick by Tim Donnelly made it 7-all.

The Waratahs actually took the lead when Peter Hewat kicked a penalty goal. The lead lasted five minutes for Ward did likewise.

Soon after the restart flank Daniel Braid scored a try which put Auckland on the road to victory. Centre Isaia Toe'ava's try made it 24-10 but the Waratahs kept in touch when big flank Al Kanaar scored at the posts. That made it 24-17.

The rest belonged to Auckland and the guiding hand of flyhalf Tasesa Lavea.

Just when I thought New South Wales could sink no further - they get dominated by Tasea Lavea.
