Bermuda Select XV v Saracens

Saracens players will be pleased to find out that the club are touring Bermuda in May.
The Sarries squad are promoting rugby on the Caribbean island and their visit is expected to raise in excess of $50,000 (£33,000) for the Beyond Rugby charity and the youth section of Bermuda Rugby Football Union.
Saracens will visit a number of schools, run coaching workshops and engage in fundraising activities while on tour.

They will also play against a Bermuda International Select XV on the evening of Friday, May 31.
Patrick Carlow, BRFU Youth Development officer and coordinator of the Beyond Rugby programme, said: 'We are thrilled that Saracens will participate in the Beyond Rugby programme.
'Bermuda’s ability to attract a team of this calibre will motivate the kids who may be experiencing rugby for the first time.'

Several U.S. players have been invited to participate in a Bermuda International Select XV against the Saracens on May 31st in Bermuda. Mike Petri and Derek Asbun headline the list of players that also includes Nick Wallace, Graham Harriman, and Zach Pangelinan. More players from the United States and Canada are expected to be invited in the near future. Other notable players invited to be a part of th team include Lewis Moody, George Chuter, Geordan Murphy, and Gcobani Bobo. The match is part of a Saracens effort to promote rugby in Bermuda. Saracens expect to raise over $50,000 for charity and youth rugby.

For the U.S. players, the match offers an opportunity to get in a high-level match prior in between the non-cap match against Canada on May 25th and the match against Ireland on June 8th. Additionally the match is sandwiched between the Elite Cup final on the 25th and the DI semi-finals and finals on June 1st and 2nd. Coming after the end of the Aviva Premiership season Saracens may feature some of their best players but the match will also been seen as an opportunity to work in new players.
