Are you picking who you think is in form now and would be the best World Cup 1st XV, or who you think will be the best World Cup 1st XV at the conclusion of the RWC?

If you were picking the former, there would be something terribly wrong with you. eg. Du Randt, Latham, Tuqiri, Mealamu.

I'm also wondering how Du Preez got onto the bench?
May as well call it the Tri-Nations Form XV

Team is debatable but I cbf tbh :p

Good as Mortlock is, why, for the love of god, would anyone not play BOD at 13???

That's like someone saying in 2002 that they would not pick Martin Johnson.

He was orginally in my team but based on absolute current form alone, i would have to say mortlock right now, he absolutely ripped it up in the tri nations.

if we had this same thread right after the 6N it would have been d'arcy and BOD without a doubt.

Agreed, of all the Northern Hemisphere players, I'd say he'd be the first on the team sheet.

Clearly the best team in the world is:

15: Chris Latham (as an All Black supporter it pains me BUT he's awesome)
14: Rockokoko (on the come back...is the real deal)
13: Brian O'Driscal (He's the man...busted face or not, just nudges Mortlock)
12: Giteau (Again painful BUT awesome)
11: Sivivatu (BEST out there)
10: Carter He's the man
9: Pieenar (Anyone who STILL says Gregan is really kidding themselves)

8: Spies...Easy
7: McCaw ...Best there is
6: Collins for the big hits and runs
5: Vickerman...lineouts
4: Matfield...Lineouts
3: Hayman
2: Smit These guys would DESTROY any team with whiney
1: Wookcock

16: Mealamu good impact player
17: Somerville Just back from injury but is great and can play both sides
18 Botha Big strong guy
19 George Smith Great player...just not as good as McCaw
20 Du Preez Great halfback
21 Nick Evans Better than anything other countries have
22 Mortlock IMpact player from hell

So there you have it...top team in the world ONE Northern Hemisphere player and it's all they deserve...I am from NZ

isn't spies out for the entire RWC?

and when did carter ever crumble under pressure buddy? maybe during the lions tour? no, coz they won that. or maybe you mean the grand slam tour? no, coz they won that also or maybe u mean the tri nations or bledisloe cup?

sure he hasn't played a RWC final yet but everything that has been thrown at him so far, he's come out of it with the sun shining out his arse. i don't think he has a problem at all.

i mean it's bad to make this kind of team because a player is good because he play with menhe knows. Make a team with the best player like lions don't assure the victory
