I was offered a ticket to go and see this in the hospitality box and everything, but unfortunatly can't go. A shame, as it should be a cracker. (Or, judging by the weather in the East Midlands, a rain-powered kick-fest)

Does anyone think these games can be better than full internationals. I think the atmosphere is better and the province/club just seem to have that bit more heart/team spirit.
When Munster played NZ in 08 the atmosphere was 1 of the best I've ever seen and even seen the likes of the games with SA vs clubs last year it was excellent.
I think this was a mastermind bringing these games back as it is great experience for both club/province and the national team fringe players

Sure, I definitely think they have there place for the reasons you stated, and provided they continue to be commercially viable, I can't see why we wouldn't continue to see them being played.
Deffo seem commercially viable to me. Surprised no SH team enquired whether one of the 'London' clubs fancied a dust-up at Wembley or a different big ground. With generous ticketing you could have filled that and made a reasonable sized pile. Plus would be one hell of a night.
Peat I presume it probably irrelevant if they play in front of 1 or 70000 because they probably still get same fee as that'd be agreed before a ticket is even printed
Do they not get a percentage of the gates/the chance to sell some merchandising while there?
Even if not, it still represents for the SH team a big event, a big crowd experience and a chance to get a lot of expats in... for the club team, the benefits are even bigger. Possibly put the cart before the horse as in who'd be suggesting it there...
edit: Also, the bigger the crowd you expect, the bigger the match fee you can ask for.

No there is part of it that is done through an agency but let's just say you would want to be selling alot of tickets to match the fee and make it worthwhile

I don't think it works that way, I believe the home union gets all of the gate takings etc ... I know the NZRU would probably like this to change to a percentage for both teams, because the All Blacks matches are generally sell outs, and that it might encourage full strength NH sides to tour more in NZ ... at the moment they try to use the game against the Wallabies in Hong Kong/Japan, and the occasional game against the BaaBaas to generate a bit of extra cash
When The All Blacks came to Thomond it was Adidas that paid it but they did get a fee. They just get the fee for coming which is good money. But then all rest of money goes tohome team except for merchandise which I presume is in some agreement

I'm really disappointed by both the result and the performance. We had no scrum, and couldn't do anything with the ball. I can only hope Cole, Croft, Youngs, and Flood absolutely muller them on Saturday.

Was 12 - 13 when my stream froze up (was it that score for about 20mins of the second half? I tried to reload it at about 60mins on the clock and that was still the score)
Shame, that was a good Leicester team (then again, the Wallabies side wasn't exactly a schoolboy side!)
If only Tigers had won, would've made it 3/3 for NH Clubs this evening

It was. 15-13 for a few minutes, then 2 pens and a try at the death.
I think White might be past it, and M Tuilagi was a bit hot-headed, not sure how legal his tackling technique is, either. The only real positive was Twelvetrees' kicking, 5/6 after being 6/6 against Quins.
I wonder how long it takes before it's categorically proven that not only did Higginbotham not illegaly go around the side of the ruck to collect the ball, but in fact rather then just being out it was actually on the Australian side of the ruck at the end.
