London Irish sign Shontayne Hape

You are aware that Hape is a 12 while Mapasua and Ansbro are both 13s, non?

This is just a crash and bang donkey but was just going to say what Bullitt pointed out he's a 12 others are 13. Mapasua is a special talent though and hard to replace

so in true lirish form hape shall turn from a mediocre center to a shoite center

Hape's only been a 12 for a few months, was a 13 until Johnson decided otherwise - hence Olly Barkley being shifted to 13 now instead of 12, to accommodate Bath sucking up to the England set up

Odd, could've sworn their centre partnership was Barkley/Hape for a long time
He's a sack of sh** anyway, and Bath are well shot of him (look how much better they're performing while the 6N is on compared to when it's not)

He had a fairly long spell at 13 early this season, which is when I took notice of him (after he was with England over the summer)

Bleh. It's like Jon Clarke has played a few at IC. Only an idiot like Jerry Guscott would call him a 12 though.

Bare in mind Barkely was at Gloucester a couple of years ago also.

Good Gravy!! A signing for a non-french team. Maybe he lost his passport

From watching Bath and looking at team selection, they play best when Carraro is 13 - whether Hape plays 12 or not. When they move Carraro to the wing, whoever is playing, they end up far worse.

Good signing for Irish imo. Hape and Ansboro seems a solid centre partnership, a bit like Nonu and Smith for the ABs (though not as good players, obviously).

Bath will be better for it, will improve the void with Mapusua leaving.

Just had a nose on the Bath message board: Nobody seems particularly disappointed he's off. Can't say I'm entirely shocked by this revelation.
