Premiership Cup 23/24

Pearson starting at 6 for Saints this round, hopefully that's where he ends up long term (though with him and Ludlam that's more of a 6.5 (but 7s minus a half rather than 6 plus a half like we used to have with Robshaw/Haskell) partnership)

F7LzcsSWUAAaVC8.jpegThat back 3 is super exciting, will be incredibly hard for Green to get back in there, but a lovely choice to have to make.

Neither Bath nor Saints holding back now it's Prem v Prem, and season starts in 2 weeks. Bolded the ones to look out for (odd to see Mojo at OC, and TdG at wing).

I had to see Barbeary by now.

OHC sitting Radwan downnnnn

Excited about OHC been a while since Tigers had an out and out speedster (prob Varndell since I feel Veainu is more elusive than speedster)

Atkinson running the show but Shillcock will prob be first choice kicker

Is anyone actually enjoying this competition?

How do we feel about it acting as compensation for missing regular premiership fixtures as allegedly the top championship clubs aren't good enough to be promoted?

I'd be enjoying it more if there were more on TV and it weren't clashing with the RWC, tbh
I'm keeping up with the results/watching highlights but not half as interested as I would be usually

I do hope they keep the Champ clubs in the prem cup moving forward, rather than just as a one off, though

as allegedly the top championship clubs aren't good enough to be promoted?
Don't think anyone's ever really said that as a reason, have they?
It's ground and money issues that have prevented clubs being promoted not skill level

Bath Rugby XV:
15 Tom de Glanville
14 Joe Cokanasiga
13 Max Ojomoh
12 Will Butt
11 Will Muir
10 Piers Francis
09 Louis Schreuder

1 Juan Schoeman
2 Niall Annett
3 Johannes Jonker
4 Ted Hill
5 Charlie Ewels
6 Miles Reid (c)
7 Chris Cloete
8 Alfie Barbeary

Replacements: 16 Tom Dunn, 17 Beno Obano, 18 Thomas du Toit, 19 Fergus Lee-Warner, 20 Sam Underhill, 21 Ben Spencer, 22 Orlando Bailey, 23 Jaco Coetzee

Meanwhile, McConnochie is babysitting the kids up in Edinburgh for a match (against a much stronger looking Embra side), where Sam Harris starts at FH, and Billy Sela is (I think) due to make his debut.
And no, I've no idea why we're still seeing Francis at FH, or why we insist on a 6:2 bench, with the backrow in the 23 shirt!
