Scotland flanker Alasdair Strokosch could miss the remainder of the Six Nations on account of an injury he sustained against Wales in Cardiff.

Strokosch was examined under the care of his club's medical team in Gloucester on Monday and was found to have fractured his hand.

"Recovery from such an injury takes typically between four to six weeks," Scotland team doctor James Robson told scottishrugby.org.

Dr Robson also reported that wing Max Evans, who is on crutches and wearing an immobilising boot, was being sent for a scan when the team arrived back in Edinburgh this afternoon following the ankle injury that forced his substitution in the first-half of the match at the Millennium Stadium.

"Max will be seen by the specialist ankle surgeon John McKinley at Spire Murrayfield Hospital today and we will await a further update later this week," Dr Robson noted.

As unfortunate as it is, Stroker's misfortune will help the cause. Hopefully Harley will get called up, he and Barclay can do Stroker's job better and faster, as well as contribute elsewhere and better handling + line-out options.

Apparently Max has ligament damage, which may rule him out as well. If Ansbro isn't fit, it would have been nice to have him in place of de Luca.

Best of luck in recoveries.

when is ansbro due to be back we need to get the usless lump de luca out of the centre and Why is matt scott not in inside centre yet? we are lacking a natural 12 and he has played well for edinburgh this season and had a good game for scotland A v saxons. I'm not bashing S lamont he always tries his best and often breaks the gain line but just needs that extra support with him.

Aye aye, Ansbro is apparently a doubt for the France game still, and with Evans likely to be out...

Not much options then, unless we put Hogg at 13, but I'd like to see him have a go a 15, more ime and opportunities to attack.

what strengths does Harley bring? looks very much Gaskell like

Harley is a ginger. Thus will have a great partnership with Rennie :p

Harley would have played at lock for Glasgow were it not for the presence of Gray, Kellock and Ryder. He is not as fast as your usual loose, but not slow too play there and break from the scrum quickly.

He is a useful line-out option, can tackle well, decent handling, generally makes yards with his carriers, hits rucks, you kow, the usual stuff. He's just better at it than Stroker, not the best player by any means, but better than what we have in the squad at 6 now. (unless one wishes to consider Denton there)

Young and has taken the armband the odd time this season as well, so a little recognition for visible leadership on the pitch.
