The relegation run-in

Which is why we had the promotion criteria and a reason why I didnt want London welsh promoted last season but looking back I was wrong because why have rules for clubs looking for promotion but not enforce those rules for clubs like Wasps, L Irish and back then Sale and Sarries too? Plus Newcastle had been Sh*t for many seasons and deserved to drop.

Falcons have been pretty bad last couple of years just surviving the drop 2 years ago but people have said the falcons may benefit from going down just like what Quins did also the falcons have dean Richards to back them up ;)

They can't just kick a load of teams out for not having enough money to move to another stadium.
The best they can do is make sure that the capacity/primacy issue is not inflated any further.
Newcastle did indeed need to go down into a no-pressure environment in order to re-build, they have since won every single match.
They are in a good position to push on significantly from where they were last time they were in the premiership.

I often see people say we don't/didn't meet criteria, but no one can name which criteria we don't/didn't meet because it's all hear-say (pure and siiimmmplllee).

Sure they didnt have "primary tender" when they played at Stockport county even remember someone from Exeter complaining that although Exeter had strict rules about their ground when he visited Sale the toliets were too close together.....

Why not? they have had over 10 years to sort it out

You seem to think that club rugby generates huge amounts of money?

Like I said, the best they can do is to not let the situation regress...

They have to have some degree of control so that they can make at least some attempt to have teams outside London.
I can perfectly well understand why they wouldn't want a team like London Welsh in the premiership.

Like I said, all they can do, short of kicking out long-established teams is to ensure that no teams are adding to the problems related to capacity and primacy.

We didn't play at stockport they played at us. Brian Kennedy did, and still does, own EP and rents it to Stockport.
Also that toilet thing wasn't an eligibility thing, they met all requirements it was because Exeter wanted some temp ones, which arent allowed so he spat his dummy out and said (the week after playing us) that temp ones would be better than ours. Or something along those lines anyway.

They had long enough to sort it out and are very vulnerable without one as we saw with Wasps last year. why should LW not be allowed to compete against the like of Wasps when all Wasps have are better backers.....

1) Because they are already in the premiership, the current rules were not in place when they originally joined it.
2) Because they have been trying to sort out their ground for years, local government denied their owners planning application.

Reports of losses in the millions of pounds for London Welsh coming out now.

Looks they will basically need to make a whole load of cuts and their squad could be decimated next season and they could struggle to challenge to get back up.

Has the "where's Henson going next" rumour mill started yet?

I could see the club being a middle table(6th-9th) in the Championship next season, it's been a disastrous couple of days for Welsh. Hope their players land on their feet and feel bad for their fans but this dosen't look good at all for next year, at least they don't start five points down though.

Did you actually do what I think you just did?

(I'll be there for youuuu...)

I take what the Evening Standard say with a pinch of salt, they tend to exaggerate things ... ala the Gatland comments.

I don't blame the backer for pulling out, citing issues within the old boys club being the issue ... which it was. Smallest squad, wages and financial support it's not surprising.

However the deal with the Kassam is being reported a little wrong. What Bleddyn said was that the club didn't now have to take the option up for a second season in Oxford because of not being in top flight rugby. Money wise ... yes they are going to make a loss not surprising really. Some players will move on naturally but a core of the guys who got them promoted will still be about, so I expect a play off place or just under it for next season.

Now we have the whole summer to link Henson with every club ever!

Become an annual event now.

I reckon a few other London Welsh players who have impressed at Premiership level will have put themselves on the shop window for other clubs to sign now as well.

According to some papers, there are French and English clubs interested in him.
I'd take a few at the Dragons. If we could secure Mills, that would be a very solid signing. I can't see him leaving LW though.
Maybe Ion or Montanella as well.

This is ridiculous, if he really wanted his club to play in the premiership then he should have planned for it, and put them in a position from which they could have gone and stayed up.
He didn't, they pursued going up knowing full well that they would not get as much money as the other clubs, their situation should have been seen a mile off.

It's not ridiculous as you so state. He couldn't have planned for such a short turn around between winning the appeal and the start of the season. Fact remains their backs were always up against it but they did extremely well given the situation. You cannot plan for things that are not always expected.
