[2013 TRC] Argentina vs. South Africa in Mendoza (24/08/2013)

Well certainly didn't expect that. Much better from the Argies but SA... Shocking downturn in their performance. I find it funny that now the call in scrums has "bind" in it, there was an Argie player who never once bound on that call. On the whole seemed quite a scrappy game with both sides looking quite directionless, although the Argies went through a phase of some nice ball handling.

Really. You mean you loast all these?

Well, I wasn't clear on that. First away-win in competitive SH rugby (Tri-Nations/RC). The last victory overseas in the tournament was in 2009, when we beat the All Blacks in Hamilton to claim the Tri Nations win.

Seems we're destinated to lose every single game :'(

Damn you Morne Steyn >.<

Reef was awful.

God I hate the Springboks....
1.They always get huge slices of undeserved luck.
2.They continually lie about opponents brutality.
3.Their commentators suck.
4.Grrrrrr

actually, you're 100% right....especially that 4th point.

I think he means Trinations/Fournations games Cooky.

no no....give him the time....he'll figure it out (maybe). Afterall, he's a Smartycooky in all obviousness.

Last year's. We SHOULD have won that one, the first half performance was insanely good in that match.

This one was really close too, but the feeling is more like "the guys did what they could".

I know man, I know !......

mmm I disagree with you. I love Reef, especially the Argentinian edition. Walsh though, his place is clearly in hardcore porn...I dunno why he chose Rugby ref.

Not really shocking. Typical Meyer side. Crush anyone at high altitude but are close to useless in away games

bahaha no 2 cracks me up. Maybe you start watching a sport less brutal. Like the knitting Olympics

In the first Argentina's try was an obstruction by Guiñazu to Adriaan Strauss??

What was it Div said? Put on tutus?
haha Div sounded like he was punched in the balls not Bekker. Btw did you know the maximum sentence for punching in the nuts is higher than its for eye gouging?

Won't make a difference though. Done and dusted and obstruction is all over the place not picked up in every game on a rugby field. So if its noticed by a few then no chance a ref would pick it up.

The penalty for touching nuts is 0 if you are Samoan, if what we saw a few months back hold true.

there is a difference between touching and punching. Touching is something your GF do during a 69. Punching is something she do when she catch you doing it with someone else

And none of it is appropriate on the rugby field.

And this team (Springboks) wants to dethrone the All Blacks? Puff, they will eat two terrible thrashings home and away with the men in black.

Pumas had a really good game, they just came in short but what a comeback compared to last week.

Have you noticed the AB play better away from home? Do you know why?

New Zealand has large doses of kryptonite in the water?
Their ability to play is effected by the distance they are from the South Pole?
Kiwis can't fly, so to go to other countries anything becomes possible?
The gravity is lesser in other countries and therefore they grow stronger?
The are compelled by their search to find Old Nealand?
They can bribe foreign officals better than their own?
Richie McCaw was born in Scotland?
Other countries provide greater nutrition?
Every other team performs better in New Zealand?
Every other team performs worse outside New Zealand?
What is a New Zealand?

Are that the script running through your head everytime a Aussie or Saffer mention the name NZ or McCaw? Good god no wonder you can take things out of proportion.

Well the answer really is that away teams playing at home will kick less and take more risks by throwing it around. Which is exactly what NZ wants and hit you on the counter. At home teams tend to kick more against NZ playing a game where they minimize risk. NZ suddenly struggle more. Hence why SA PDivvy was so successful against NZ and not so against Australia

It's one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Taking out the opposing hooker at line-out time. It's what they teach you at high school level, and it happened right in front of Walsh and his AR. Shocking!
