Probably the crusaders bias of Ryan influncing that one. Finau would have been a more like for like frizell replacement too, allowing the team to retain some cohesion
...might be right, not in a canterbury bias sense but just in a for familiar with blackadder so might be able to get him up to speed quicker?
Yeah. The all blacks XV selection last year was heavily crusaders biased but that was possibly just Ryan not being familiar with other players yet
and maybe because the crusaders had won the comp and so had some good players
I don't know about that, they were mostly non starters - Gallagher, Gardner, bell, etc
