Don't have much time to talk about this as have to get working but kind of an odd, match selection, not a full test and played at neutral ground probably in front of about 1,000 fans, I'm guessing they couldn't find either team a more suitable opponent.

Russia were highly thought to be playing the New Zealand Maori this year and are said to be p*ssed off at missing out.

In other Tier 2 news there is rumoured to be some sort of Churchill Cup type tournament in November next year.

I am going to start a new thread with this article, but wanted to quickly summarize it here too since it is kind of relevant to psychic duck's post. While not a November 'tournament' (it's played in the summer test window), a new Pacific Nations Cup will be revived next year featuring USA, Canada, Japan, Samoa, Tonga, and Fiji. Format not set on yet but they want a round robin then 2 rounds of play-off matches (semis and a final) which would be quite demanding to fit all of this in the summer test window.
