Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Scotland, South Africa and Wales have confirmed their interest in the 2015 tournament.

Australia, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Russia, Scotland, South Africa and Wales are keen on hosting in 2019.[/b]

My reaction is:

LoL'ed when I saw Scotland have put in a bid. They can barely afford to host a Scouts Jamboree, let alone a World Cup. Interesting to see England and Wales have parted company already. I admire the balls of Jamaica as well, quality entry.

If the RWC goes to Italy or Japan I'll be pleased. If it goes to Australia, England, South Africa or Wales, I'll be gutted.

I would love to have the world cup here again at some point so that I can experience it at home.

but I would rather want to see either Japan or Italy host it before we get it again, Japan over Italy though.
Hell it's going to be 2015 so I might even go watch it there for all I know.

If (by some total miracle bestowed upon us by God and every other deity on this planet) Japan/Italy does get it, we need to have an international TRF meet up.

Because I'll definitely be going in 2015, Sir Speedy will definitely be going, who else?!

 Yeh, but you'll be paying for my plane ticket....

2015 should go to Japan, hit the market sooner rather than later and get Jamaica in 2019!

Ah, for goodness sake man! Even saving £100 a year would pay for the plane ticket!

The total you'd need (in todays money) would be about £2300. That would include:
  • Flights
  • Japan Rail Pass
  • Hostel accomodation
  • Booze 'n' Food
  • Money for buying <strike>realistic models of erotic game characters</strike> Japanese rugby jerseys!

 How long would the trip be for, anyway? The whole tourny? - That would be awesome. :D Also, saving £2300 in 7 years is easier said than done...I mean, I'm just going into the Sixth Form next year. Give me a chance! :o

I remember £2000 lasted me for about four weeks! If you wanted to do the entire tournament (about two months) you'd have to save about £3500?

Ugh, we could always go during the latter stages of the competition. I mean, it's not like we'll be seeing every game; I'd probably save up for a ticket to the final (if they aren't sold out immediately!) and have a better time because of it rather than seeing Wales getting stuffed in the World Cup as we routinely do.
Ah, talking of routine, England will most likely make it to the Final; in which case I'll sell my ticket to one of you English lads. -_-

Well I would be saving up to a "ticket fund" for just such an eventuality of paying for touted quarter/semi/final tickets.

One thing is for sure, for all those arrogant Aussie/Kiwi fans who have already bought tickets to the Finals of the 2015/19 RWCs, if it ends up in Japan, don't bank on being able to EBAY your tickets when you get knocked out by England/France...again.

Unless of course, the buyer is willing to meet you in Shibuya at 3am.

Well, I'll be in New Zealand in 2011 and I have a feeling that attending world cups will become a tradition.

ah man, as Sir.Speedy said, it HAS to be Italy and Japan for the next two. Love the fact that Jamaica's had a shot, but I wonder where their Union managed to get the funds for it, because weren't the IRB being pricks and charging loads for the right to bid for it?
Heh would love to go though, but I'm the same as Speedy, going into Six Form, and I barely have any money at all. Only just about got the £35 for a Blues Season Ticket! But if 2015 is in Italy, I am definately heading down there!

I'm voting for Japan to get the RWC I think they should of got 2011 because we've already hosted one and it would be good for the game to try and expand to countries that don't see alot of Rugby.

Hehe, that's a bit of a hypocritical post right there, no?

Australia will surely get one, it's not our fault we arranged the greatest sporting event ever seen on the face of the earth.

If the IRB have any idea what they are doing they will give it to Italy in 2015 and Japan in 2019. They can't possibly keep flogging it off to the same 4 or 5 countries. If rugby wants to expand to a truly world game this is what needs to happen. Italy could host the world cup tomorrow. They already have the infrastructure in place, including a number of purpose built football stadiums, and the fact it's close to the European fans where most of the money comes from. Who wouldn't want to go on a holiday to Italy. If Japan gets the nod they will have 10 years to plan for it, and there is a real possibility their national team will be a creditable force by then.

Who said anything about organising World Cups?

I was saying, if you get knocked out in the QFs in Japan, you'll be a loooong way away from anyone who:

1) will be a fan of the nations who did make the SF/Final
2) will be within a reasonable distance to make the impulse buy.

The reason why tickets for the England Semi Final and Final sold so briskly on the black market is because the buyers and sellers lived so close to each other and the Brits were very eager to make the impulse buy, book a ticket on Eurostar or Ryanair and make the journey out to Paris. Japan will remove all of those incentives, unless us English are willing to pay £700 for a return flight to Tokyo ;)

That was the point I was trying to make: be very careful when boldly booking final tickets, you may not be able to sell them on if your team crashes out early.

I'll be there if it's in Japan. Maybe I could be the TRF Meet-Up Official Guide/Interpret ? Lol

I will definitely plan on going only if it's in Japan.
