June Internationals: New Zealand - France, 2nd test

Cooky, don't take anything serious that sifplay says, he's just another naysayer the forum don't want or need
Heineken is it my fault that you were still hanging in your dads nutsack in 1986? If you want to jump into convo's please add something useful rather than just trying to insult someone. I understand the lack of oxygen up North have made you all retards in Pretoria so I understand

Like one of our Golden generation cricket teams missed out on international cricket and being the worlds best another golden generation suffered the same fate. Most of the guys up there that South Africa is running to pieces there won the WC the next year for NZ.

Oh since your Bulls supporter. Look at Naas Botha. Naas did not pass Naas did not run...... Well that is proved BS as well.

Heine, I'm not one to allow bul kak to pass without comment, no matter who the fokop is who's posting it!
Agree. Bulls fans talk a lot of kak. Heineken is your typical Blue Bulls supporter. They run around and counter any argument with personal insults. I can link you to 1000's of replies made them on Saffer sites. You will not they all sing the same tune.

... What's the relevance of the Cavaliers clip? ... one, it wasn't the All Blacks they were playing, two, it was played in South Africa, not New Zealand, where the 1987 RWC was played, and Three the reason the Springboks weren't there was because of the political regime that South Africa put in place (so South Africa is predominantly to blame), and the rest of the world (not just New Zealand), chose to boycott.

Dude. Rugby IS my porn.

I mean, come on...I get up at 3:30 am, quietly slip out of bed so as not to wake the hubby, tiptoe into a dark room and sit fixated - my face bathed in the glow of the screen - watching as sweaty, writhing bodies pile on top of each other in the name of sport. If that's not porn, nothing is!!

das

I really, really need to put this description of rugby out of my mind before the next game.

REALLY need to..

sis Das :p

I will keep it forever in mind that somewhere in the USA there is a lady who has given up the marital bed to sit in her jarmies to watch some blokes play rugby and to communicate with others who are sittting in front of their TV's with beer and a computer to hand!!

Relax. I was just playing around with the Kiwi's. Playing one of the greatest fullbacks at center and a wing at fullback a great center on the wing they surely did not expect to walk away with a World cup 99 now did they.

Now why do you bring politics into this. Especially if you look at the way the Pacifics people were dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and kicked out of NZ in the 70's? And btw Apartheid wasn't started in 49 it was started by the British even before SA became a union or republic. You have no clue what went on those years. You just saw TV images and say BAD guys. Sort of like your seeing US troops in Iraq and say to the Iraqi guys BAD guys. Cause that is what some people behind a camera tells you. If you want to go further into it PM me rather but lets stick to rugby

Just see if you can get the following for me.

A team photo of the NZ team for the 2nd test in 1956 against South Africa.

Cause I can get the photo for the first test

And for the third test
56%20third%20test%20teams513.jpg

But strangely enough the photo for the 2nd test is no way to be found. Wonder why

Are you serious sifplay??

Politics was the ONLY reason why we didn't play in 87 and 91!

We were boycotted because of our Apartheid Regime. Our first DEMOCRATIC election happened in 92 and our first constitution was drafted in 93 and then the final one was in 96.

To make a comparison for the boks during that period vs. the other nations are void. We didn't play international rugby for more than a decade, so our guys didn't have any international experience. We only played currie cup. And then the Cavaliers played some games, but that isn't a good comparison either. Lets face it, we only got better in 95.

...and four, like all tours to South Africa before they were given the cold shoulder, they had their own South African referees who cheated to ensure that the Springboks won. The very first time that the Springboks lost a home series to New Zealand was also the first time that neutral referees were used... you can draw your own conclusions from that.

As for the remainder of your posts, they are kak, and aren't even worth consideration or comment other that to call them that.

Yep, and what fokops like sifplay are probably too young to realise is that WE broke the boycott by sending the 1976 team to South Africa, and that resulted in almost all African nations boycotting the the 1978 Commonwealth Games.

You don't realize it, but you're going in the exact direction as me.
It's a fairly primitive logic really, it goes like this:

NZ win all the time. No other team in any sport wins as much as NZ does at Rugby. The distance between the best and second, third, fourth...etc...best is considerable.

Come the world cups. Out of 7, they've only won a couple; and the first one didn't have their all-time rivals who had political problems at the time, and the last one controversial to say the least.
Those are all facts, you must face them unless you're a tiny little coward, face them and draw the necessary conclusions they provoke. Wake up, see things as they are. Bias is a beautiful thing, but at some point, wake tha fluke up.

And yes, you may be tongue-in-wherever you like :)

What makes you think I don't do that ?! Don't underestimate me, Dragon...
I don't know if they're all facts. The only facts I see are that SA wasn't in that WC (1987) - but to construe and say 'had they shown up' using the same flawed logic that many people seem to like to over-generalise AB fans with (in terms of 'ABs just need to show up'). Either way; someone is wrong .... ;)

Second point; isn't fact. Unless you wish to make and analyse, every game as "controversial". I don't know where you're getting at.... Anyone can say that it was a bloody close game. Apart from that fact (and the fact that it was 8-7 in the end and the silverware is with NZ) I really don't know what yo're referring to.

"Woulda, coulda, shoulda"
? Yeah - those aren't facts - just conjecture.

I don't know how anyone can perceive that as "biased"???? Name me one thing that isn't true about that (without hyperbole and rhetoric of course) - I give you 10 mins, and the prize is a big "whoop-dee-doo" from me :D).

Whoah - that unnecessarily just turned serious. Fell for the bait - hook, line!

Yeah, David Kirk didn't tour with the Cavaliers although he was selected along with John Kirwan (but both chose not to tour), so even if you add up your bolded players, they don't make up the bulk of the 1987 RWC All Black squad like you claim.

So just to clarify, prominent players from the RWC: Kirk, Kirwan, Michael Jones, Joe Stanley, John Gallagher, and Sean Fitzpatrick, all did not tour ... I notice that you didn't list the whole RWC squad, which also included players like Zinzan Brooke, who also didn't tour the republic in 1986.

... anyway, it's all irrelevant, because had South Africa been invited to the 1987 RWC, there wouldn't have been one ... I know, as I experienced the division that the 1981 Springbok tour caused first hand, and there's no way that the host countries would have accepted that kind of disruption ever again, and all of the other teams wouldn't have shown up anyway, as they were all boycotting South Africa at the time.

Don't get the relevance of the 1956 series pictures either ... why not the 1937 Springboks?, at least they won the series in New Zealand

I think all this should be in another thread. But I can now say with the All Blacks reining World Cup holders that the world cup hardly means anything and in fact I think it devalues world rugby as a whole

lets face it it basically comes down to having 2-3 good weeks in 4 years yet it's seen as the most important thing in the sport?! I hate it, basically since the final whistle in 2011 all minds are focused on 2015

Fact is the IRB world rankings show where it's at to be the best you have to show up every weekend every year against the best go into every game to win it and succeed, their only real weakness is the higher weighting for world cup matches which is bull crap and not required. Add to that it's been dominated by the All Blacks for so long but they deserve it - the All Blacks are winning 80-90% of games where the next best teams are only winning ~50-55% of games.

A test match is a test match, and the only way to truly sort out where two teams sit is with a test series they are the lifeblood of the sport the best games in rugby history have been played outside the world cup. IMO the only good thing about World Cups is the chance for smaller nations to take on, scare or even beat more established nations just for the entertainment value. Generally the finals are a bore fest, the referees get stage fright and the rule books get thrown out the window.

/rant off

bring on test 3 !
