The IRFU have cracked a strange fish alltogether for the stadium opener.

A joint Leinster/Ulster team is to play a Munster/Connacht Team in the 2010/2011 preseason.

The team stuck with Connacht were always gonna be at a disadvantage. Should be fun!

Munster + Keatley, Carr and Cronin? Could be a laugh.

Leinster + Ferris, Best and then a battle for the 7 jersey?

It's a creative and all inclusive event. It should draw a lot of people out. Excellent stage for a few boys from Connacht to get spotlight in front of selectors.

Dunno Monkey, means you'll finally have a competent 10. Of course by that stage he could already be playing for ye...

We do have a competent 10. He's an Aussie and looks like Keith Earls from a distance.

The New Lansdowne is almost done, which brings to mind the question will people still call it Lansdowne Road, or is "Aviva Stadium" really going to take root? While Croake Park has been historic and exciting, I think we're all anxious for Rugby to return home to Lansdowne. The Ulster/Leinster v Connacht/Munster should be fun, but the first International against SA will be what we're all really waiting for.
