Palhares is still a knucklhead. Insane Jits tho. But man, that guy is a walking PED.

yeah I was hoping Palhares would lose, I'm not a fan. hes just a short ball of muscle and jitsu. very rare to see a guy drop down onto the ground to grab a leg and finish it off but he did it in no time. No idea who that other guy was so this fight was just a slot filler.

Like the Moldanardo vs. Beltron fight which was kinda entertaining to watch but not very technical and either of them would get destroyed by a half decent light-heaveyweight.

carbal looked very good. That guy Alan Patrick also looked pretty bad ass.
The Kim vs. Silva fight was pretty insane. Kim a desperate underdog came out with a desperate game plan and pulled off a massive KO.

I'm looking forward to the Mark hunt vs antonio Silva fight later this year.

How do you know he is a walking ped? Mate you need not say these things. Hes ****** hot once, how many fighters in the ufc have been caught with ped or elevated levels of testosterone? Are you going to say theyre also walking ped? Cmon mate.

Thats his game. Hes known for his leglocks. What makes him scary is that he destroyed a capable ww in mike pierce who has never been treated like that before. Pierce knew what Palhares' gameplan was and still couldnt avoid it. Palhares is a scary man when he has your leg haha im a fan of the man. Gutted he has been cut from the ufc. I hope he gets back.

ill tell you what i pride myself on being open to other cultures, people, backgrounds - but the people that scare me are the fanatic Muslims and the guys from the back streets of Rio/Brazil somewhere who grew up with nothing, did BJJ as soon as they started walking, literally had to fight to survive and are deeply religious. Basically guys like Palhares lol

you cant understand a word they say but you know they can kill you with their bare hands in about 10 seconds.

john Key is only scary if he's around your children :p

Massive weekend for NZ MMA with Mark Hunt headlining and Dylan the Vilan & James TeHuna fighting as well

and the event will be UNLOCKED on sky arena? I guess that means we get to see this pay per view event for free. Guess sky is using this as an opportunity to boost the profile of MMA in New Zealand and maybe boost future PPV sales for UFC events.

Dylans last fight was pretty crazy, from what I remember he picked up an injury and was really struggling, was losing on the cards late in the fight and managed to pull off a crazy victory.

TeHuna is fighting Shogun which is fricken insane. It really puts him on the big stage.

UFC last weekend was interesting. Gutted both Ronda's fighters went down. No big deal though they will both get more chances in the UFC.

I wanna see Ronda rip Tates arm again, that fight is going to be insane.

Diaz vs. Maynard was interesting. I thought Maynard would win it for sure but as soon as the fight started I could see Diaz hands were so much sharper and faster than his last couple of fights. Bendo took him apart but if he had these hands then he would have given Henderson a run. his hands were fast and very very accurate.

With all that wrestling on the ground,jujistu..... MMa will never be as entertaining or as lucrative as boxing .But they are definitely the "baddest guys" on the planet.

I don't watch fighting much but came across this K1 fight (MMA without the grappling?). These guys are brutal.

Tough guys, they hit hard and take good shots . Ben tameifuna the chiefs prop has started boxing on the advise of his fitness coach! Obviously fighting and/the type of training is very good for overall physical conditioning!

I've seen lots of rugby players that liked the UFC, but not the other way around:

Anyone going to UFC in Auckland this weekend?

I was looking at tickets this morning then I ran into James TeHuna at the mall during my lunch break and wished him luck. Actually I think I said something like: KICK HIS ARSE JAMES!

Not a bad card.

Word going around that Aldo has cracked a couple of ribs in training and that his fight with McGregor is in jeopardy.
Dana White has said not to worry, but if he does have cracked ribs then they're not going to be completely healed in 2.5 weeks.

Really hope the fight does go ahead, and that both fighters are 100% - should be a hell of a spectacle, especially with how bat**** crazy McGregor is.
