World Cup Group D

Yeah, up the Irish! Two great efforts wither side of St Paddy's day. [/b]

Ooo yeh i forgot about that. I'd say St Patricks day would have given 'em a bit! lol

Yeah was a great performance especially in restricting Pakistan to only 132, some fantastic catches as well. Great effort from Niall O'Brien with his innings and finished off superbly by his brother and the skipper under massive pressure.

Not quite in the Super 8 though as Tony Cozier seems to think. More than possible that Zimbabwe can pick up a couple of results especially now that Pakistan are out.

nahhh.... Ireland are through mate....
deadset... if the Zimbots beat both the paki's and the windies then you gotta back the irish to knock over the windies also...

they would have to be terribly unlucky not to make it now and in their current form who says they can't knock off the winides either :D. zimbabwe aren't exactly in great form remember they drew with the irish.

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer is in hospital after being found unconscious in his hotel room. He was found on the floor of his room with his mouth wide open and there were signs of vomiting.

well he's passed away now. Huge loss to the game, was a massively talented coach and even a serious candidate to take over from Duncan Fletcher.

Certainly emotional scenes at Sabina Park todya as Pakistan play their final game in the world cup. The Zimbabwe players all flocked around Inzy as he was dismissed for 37 in his last ODI innings for his country and a guard of honour from his teammates as he came off the pitch.

Imran Nazir stole the show though in the match itself making 160 off just 121 balls and guiding Paiktsan to a mamoth 349 total.

Zimbabwe currently 17-3 and Ireland looking well set to secure their place in the Super 8s.

Zimbabwe are out for 99 and Pakistan win by 93 runs under the duckworth lewis method and confirms Ireland's place in the knockout stages. Windies will certainly want those 2 points though to make their semi final chances easier.

Ireland have won the toss and decided to bat in this unofficial Super 8 match. Porterfield is already gone but he's not done anything with the bat so far, pressure now on Bray and Morgan to put a decent partnership together and cause the Windies a problem.

Still should be relatively comfortable for the Windies, 3 shocks from a minnow in the world cup is just too much to hope for especially with Jonhstone out.
