Leicester Tigers Thread

Would that be fair? It would seem disproportionate to other punishments meted out to other clubs to me.
There were a fair few teams that cheated for sure, Tigers were uniquely placed in that they avoid relegation due to Sarries cheating financially which they were also guilty of just to a lesser extent and being crap whilst doing it, then go on to win it the following season.

Loosehead: Cronin, Whitcombe, Van Wyk, Richardson (Miell)
Hooker: Montoya, Dolly, Clare, (Theobald-Thomas, Vanes, Smith)
Tighthead: Cole, Heyes, Hurd, (Hoyt, Crane
Locks: O.Chessum, Martin, Henderson, Wells, Carter, (L.Chessum, Carmichael, T.Manz)
Blindside: Liebenberg, Hatherall, (Carnduff)
Openside: Reffell, Ilione, (J.Manz)
Number 8: Wiese, Cracknell, (Koroiyadi)
Scrum Half: JVP, Youngs, Whiteley, (Edwards)
Fly Half: Pollard, Atkinson, (Meredith, Daniels)
Inside Centre: Kelly, Cokanasiga (Woodward)
Outside Centre: Porter, Scott, (Cusick)
Winger: OHC, Watson(?), Kata, Bassett, Simmons (Browning)
Full Back: Steward, Shillcock, Brown (Walsh)

Ins and outs
Jamie Shillcock --> Hegarty (Big upgrade IMO)
OHC -> Nadolo (Good upgrade, right timing re Nadolo whose been better than I expected)
Atkinson -> Burns (Hmm tricky one Atkinson has more potential but Burns has bigger game experiance)
Hatherall -> Jansen (Big upgrade but I liked Jansen)
Carter -> Snyman (Hmm based on recent form prob even but good depth)
Theobald-Thomas -> Taufete'e (Taufete'e did nothing)
Kata -> Saumaki (I like Saumaki but Kata is more versitile and more all round)
Bassett -> Ashton (Ashton been great, but I like Bassett good solid Prem standard winger)
Brown ->Murimurivalu (Like Ashton, Murimurivalu is a good player but Brown been great since signing)

Others
Nephi Leatigaga (Waratahs)
Tom West (Saracens)
Jimmy Gopperth
Calum Green

Green and West are the biggest losses, but generally not too bad.

Wilkinson rumoured in

Loosehead and Winger are slight depth concerns
Wouldn't mind some young player at 9

Really would like us to pick up of the loose heads from Irish. Reckon Goodrick-Clarke would be a great pickup and more realistic than getting Fischetti. CCS would be fantastic as weise understudy but that's dreaming.

I mean if the French clubs are only offering Marcus Smith 400k who knows

Let's say he's on 200k CCS and I'll prob be looking for 75k minimum depending how many after him prob could get up too 150k

I feel that Wiese is pretty keepable

What's the latest on Anthony Watson?
Guessing he's not back until next season?

Leicester City owners having direct talks with Tigers owners about developing rugby to Thailand setting up academies and bringing in Thai players to Leicester for experience.

Interesting was brief talks with Leicester City's owner father way back but he wasn't interested in it seems his son Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has taken a interest now.

Something to watch

Leicester Tigers confirm
Peter Hewat in as Attack Coach
Matt Parr as head of performance (S&C)

Academy grads promoted to senior squad
Archie Vanes (Hooker)
Tim Hoyt (TH Prop)
Tom Manz (Lock)
Finn Carnduff (Lock/6)
Emeka Ilione (6/7/8)
Jason Woodward (12)

Happy with all that, makes it clear we see those youngsters

Leicester desperately need some stability. Hard to build a winning team when you consistently change coaches. Never going to be perfect, but regular large changes never works. Cheika is the target, but I hope it's been thought through and there is a plan for the long term rather than just getting a big name who is available.

Yes and no. England came early, but they always knew that he was likely to go at some point. Likely once the WC was over or this tour now. So you'd have only got another year and 1/2 out of him anyway. Still a shorter tenure compared with other coaches.
