Yup - same goes for Clarke & Asimov... Tolkien & White for fantasy, Christie & Conan-Doyle for detectives...Re the Dune Books....i rememeber getting to the end of Dune and thinking it was generic sci-fi, predicable in a lot of ways....and then i realised it was probably the source of what have become standdard sci-fi troups...so would have been truely revelutionsary when first released.....just sufferend from me reading/watching +40 years of newer sci fi before it
