[2018 November Tests] Ireland vs New Zealand (17/11/18)

I went with Ireland to win by 13 and I'll take that as a moral victory. If their lineout hadn't died after the substitutions I think they'd have had a more comfortable margin. They really needed more Best & Toner - I've always said they were the lynchpins of this Irish side :p

NZ centre combinations have been really misfiring in recent months and it is destroying their usual clinical execution. It's not panic stations for them, but before the last World Cup if felt like their second 23 could have been favourites. It is all very different now.

should be banned for that racism and homophobia ADMINS?

@corny should be banned for supporting it
You're embarrassing. Calling a nation pricks whilst getting crappy when people challenge you.

2 weeks of reading your hatred.

Bring on the 6 nations.

the lack of respect for a specialist 14 annoys me, we've got massive talent in that department, that should be used

outside backs has always been our strength, dunno why Hansen is trying to shoehorn players when we've got talent that can fill that role already

Barnes was brilliant today. Fair and very vocal communication.
If you are blaming him younare really clutching straws

Nah, he was good today. But, as I said, he's a moron. He should never have ref'd a game since 2007.

England wasn't that scary to us back then. They were good and played a great RWC but after they won the RWC in 2003, they would lose to us for almost a decade.

Besides Englands England. Ireland is Ireland. You guys are the big brother now.

Thats because half their team retired. Sure we beat them for fun in the years after that WC.

The real question is how are Ireland playing manlet CJ Stander, don't you lads realize that pure brawn and size is all that matters. Games aren't won with talent.
This guy is clearly too small for international rugby.

Being serious for a second Ireland also won this one without your best player, keep that in mind. Furlong is a god, Stockdale as a 22 year old is an insane talent, Ringrose wow. Kearney wow. Your locks have no right to be this good, that's supposed to be our thing - how dare you. You are a terrifying team, was with some mates tonight who bemoaned the fact we aren't playing Ireland in our tour, I responded with "We really don't need another loss, count our blessings.".

AB fans, I know it hurts but do not fear. It's been a long harrowing year but you guys are winners, I didn't believe you would lose until the clock hit 80 minutes, even then I was convinced you would draw, so conditioned am I of your dominance, and that hasn't changed. Japan is neutral ground and for me you're still the favourites.

How I feel about the World Cup after this weekend:

But England stopped playing rugby when the NZ'ers got on the front foot. They kicked the ball away numerous times and just looked to make tackles to win the game. Only when they went behind did they start to string phases together again and they still looked threatening. Thats what i'm talking about. If they were steadfast in their resolve to take the game to NZ they would have won imo. Hoping to win and expecting to win were the mindsets of the respective teams and NZ generally have that advantage in games. Its why they win so often at the death. Teams hand them the initiative.
Tbf, I think NZ generally take the advantage themselves, they are notoriously slow starters but tend to be great for the 10 minutes either side of halftime and normally go into overdrive in the last 20. NZ still have an 'aura' about them which mostly affects the officials imo. My point about Barnes was that he seems implacable to me and seems to ref the same way regardless of who is involved.
I'm sure that I'll be called delusional or paranoid etc but as an Englishman I often feel that some officials, subconsciously at least, would like to see England turned over. The Welsh touch judge from the other week was a classic example for me, reminded me of the hateful Steve Walsh.
Anyhoo, congrats to Ireland on a great win, although it wasn't a surprise to me.
