Different game, same result. The All Blacks just seem to have this ability to throw the switch when they need to.

The really scary thing is that they played like this two in a row against the old enemy, and there is still room for improvement.

The Springboks, perhaps finally figured out near the end of the first half that the kick and chase game is very "last year".

Anyone who still wonders what the All Black selectors see in players like Rene Ranger and Israel Dagg... wonder no more!!

My choice for "Man of the Match" is Piri Weepu. He was simply outstanding tonight.

All Blacks Win with a 16 man effort, beating only 14 Springboks

Dannie Rossouw sin binned after only 3mins, for what? Your guess is as good as mine. Two tries were scored by the sixteen all blacks on the field at the time. Funnily enough one all black was not wearing all black, he was wearing yellow and blue and went by the name Alain Rolland.

The entire game was a farce. The sin binning of Rossouw denied any chance of a springbok win. John Smit after the game commented; "We are looking forward to seeing what we can do with 15 men on the field... Two tries were conceded in the time Danie was sent off"

How Danie Rossouw got a yellow card in the first 5 minutes, only the ref will know. Whats worse he's kept off for 12 minutes.

As a Springbok supporter I would also love refs start penalizing McCaw for his ongoing off-the-ball activities, diving over the ball in the ruck and continual off side plays which has been a "feature' of his play for years. I will keep on hoping........

That was a pathetic call for the yellow, but i think the Springboks and Botha have made their own bed a tad here. If they act like thugs, referees will start looking for thugish acts, and lets face it its not hard to find ****ly incidents on a football pitch. Bakkies, Matfield, Burger, Krige, Barry, the list of rough saffas is a long one, referees have decided to try and stamp out that type of behavior.

Its not classic "Hometown decision" either, the referee is Irish of French ancestry, the touchies were Australian and Pom i think. McCaws reputation follows him too, i know that the referee kept threatening a yellow without giving one, but McCaw was also the victim of alot of harsh calls at the same time. Referees look for foul play in his game aswell

Positives for the AB's -
Mils looks dangerous every time he gets the ball again
They have found an answer to the kicking game
Mealamu is back at his best, no need to shuffle around looking for a great hooker
Dagg/Jane/Ranger/Guildford the future of the back line looks in good hands
Piri Weepu in fine form
The entire forward pack is working well

Negatives for the AB's -
A little disorganised going from attack to defence
Cowan

Positives for the Bok's -
Berger
Kirscher
They kept up the intensity and effort

Negatives for the Bok's -
Lack of imagination in attack
ball retention

The first thing that schocked me and I think SA was that the All Blacks made no concession toward the weather, they came out all guns blazing, and despite a ***anic effort on the Bok's side the early pressure and sustained effort later paid dividends. I still thought at half time SA could get up and take the game, but the defence was at times brilliant, the odd lapse the AB's paid for.

SA never played badly, even in the first test they were not bad, it just seems to me the AB's have finally grown into the game they want to play.

I would not fancy being an Aussie facing the Bok's next week, they are really going to be out to prove a point or three.

My man of the match Piri Weepu.

Man of the match richie MaCaw. A god amongst men.

NZ's counter-rucking was very good, and their defense was sublime.

Rolland was a great referee though hey? NH refs all the way.

Fair play to NZ though. They were the better team, and we just couldn't finish.

Cracking match, Weepu was immense.
It'll be interesting to see how SA are against Australia next week, whether they'll come out at a new level to prove themselves, or go downwards from here

How many "this is your FINAL WARNING"s did Mccaw get for going off his feet though? :p

Are you seriously contesting that the result would have been any different without the card?
In one instance Israel Dagg busted 4 tackles to score. But thats the referees fault somehow? South Africa got played off the park by a better team on the night. Why can't you just handle that.

Sour grapes much?

I was at the game, and enjoyed every second of it. Great win for the All Blacks, amazing few tries. Though I still don't know if Rene Ranger is a wing, there are better wings in NZ in my opinion. Weepu's best game as an All Black.

I thought the referee was alright, not bias, just a tad harsh.

Why was Danie rossouw instantly sent off, for nothing more than what should have been a 'calm down' talk? Also, why was ranger not sent off? and why was MaCaw given 70 warnings but was never sent off? NZ were also VERY guilty of falling over the ball numerous times. It was an abysmal display by him. I also found nonu's try very suspect. Nice of the NZ TV crew to not show a proper replay.

We wouldn't have won anyway, as NZ were better than us both in attack, and defense, but Rolland certainly made a nice dent to the scoreboard.

Kirchner had the best game i have seen him play. Aplon needs to start at wing, like we have been f*cking saying all season.

Referee was very poor today, and I think the speed at which the ABs played benefited them in the decision making.

Can't believe Im saying this, but would it not have been better to have an Aussie, whom has refeered in the S14 , refereeing today?
He missed a lot, and McCaw had 1 or 2 professional fouls before he even got his first 'warning' (which, after 2 more warnings, was followed up by his first 'official warning')

Carter is going to cost me big time in the fantasy league

As said before really good game. The Sin bin of Rossouw is discussable altho I think a warning would have done the trick as well.
All the new guys played awesome.

Positives for the boks is that we could all see how suddenly when a real scrumhalf came on (i.e. not a fat turd pretending to be a man - January) we started to build phases, around the 60 minute mark. Even though Pienaar has not played much at 9 lately he's still better in that position than turd boy.

Negatives, JDV is NOT a wing. Exposed during Ranger's try, coming in too early and missing the tackle completely. Hopefully now PDIV's freak brain implosion with that experiment is over. JDV needs to be on centre and Barbie Olivier has to get the chop. Habana at the moment is more likely to give me cancer than a cuban cigar of the same name.

The AB's played really well, magic of the match was surely DAgg's fantastic try. I see Jericho reckons Mckaw should be MOTM. Not so IMO. That accolade goes to Weepu who had completely outclassed his opposite number and slotted that nice penalty. What's more is that there was no change in their tactics when the rain started coming down in the first half, they continued to look for the offload and swung the pill about with purpose. But where they won the game was at the breakdown and the speed they got the ball with (again Weepu take a bow) .Worthy winners.

With regards to McCaw, as far as I am concerned, had the ref any sense of objectivity he would've sent McCaw off when he gave him the third warning after telling him 5 minutes before that he will send him off. Ranger, If Rossouw was sent off as a result of Botha's infringement last week, and because of people like Barry, Krige and the long list of thuggish SAffa then the man's got a watch that's dead. A game is 80 minutes, not 80 years. By that logic every Kiwi hooker should start the match 10 minutes after everyone else because of the "saint like" career of people like Fitzy.

Rossouw was pinged for kicking McCaw on the ground. Some might consider that is just "part of the game". I don't, and nor it would seem, does Mr Rolland. It doesn't matter how slight the kick was, it was deliberate and is specifically outlawed in Law 10.4. Kicking a player is an absolute no-no.

The Springboks have a well earned reputation for thuggery recently. They have Bakkies and ***** James with his habitual head-high no arms shoulder charges to thank for it. They only have themselves to blame for the predicament they find themselves in now, and PDivvy bleating on about how they are being picked on will simply fall on deaf ears. Its in their own hands; the game has moved on from the violent and thuggish antics of twenty years ago.

Danie Rossouw is a better player than that; kicking McCaw was just a plain dumb thing to do.

There is still a possibility that Rossouw may yet be cited for what happened at the same time, however, something the Rolland did not pick up. Rossouw reached down while McCaw was sitting on the ground and put his fingers very close to McCaw's eyes in a slapping motion with his fingers facing forwards.

I also think that Zane Kirchner will be cited for the high swinging arm on Cory Jane late in the second-half, and de Villiers may also have his late spear tackle on Rene Ranger looked at. I have also heard there is an All Black in the firing line for a possible citing as well..

Great game from Read and Weepu.Cowan was so slow clearing the ball,What's happen to the boks???No backline line moves there pairing of Oliver and Fouree have been a mistake.

Sorry mate, but come on.
Replays of Rene Ranger shows that he made an effort to get both arms around, so no penalty should have even been given at all. I'll post the tackle when I can find a highlights video.
Jean de Villiers was very lucky not to get pinged for a spear tackle on Rene Ranger, where after Rene Ranger had knocked on the ball, Ranger was lifted and dumped where his legs went over a horizontal position. I'll post a vid if required. Zac Kirshner made a swinging head high tackle on Cory Jane that could have also been a yellow card. The All Blacks retained a position at the ruck where they were able to support their own body weight without assistance, which means they did not fall on the ruck.
As you pointed out yourself though, the All Blacks dominated the game regardless of a yellow card.

People are having a go at the referee, but the decisions really did not favour any team in general, as while Rossouw got a yellow, there were plenty of justifiable yellows anyway.

Rolland was pretty spot on, stop blaming the ref.

He missed a few things on both sides, like the spear tackle and high tackle as nickdnz mentioned, but his attitude towards the rucks and scrums was brilliant.

Once Pienaar came onto the field, there was an immediate difference to the Boks, and PDV would be a fool to let Januarie start again, he was **** tonight.

Rene Ranger is not the future, congratulations he scored quite a soft try with a bit of acrobatic work but seriously, how many balls did he drop?

Next game I'd love to see 11) Dagg 14) Jane 15) Mils

I think Dagg showed what an amazing player he is and doesn't need that much space to do something. Mils looks better and better and he hais hit his prime form again.

Man of the match? How on earth do you decide! Richie Mccaw was faultless, how many balls did him and Read turn over? Plus they support their runners and run aswell, perfect loosies. Mils, another world class performance. Weepu, I'm not surprised, he has always been a brilliant attacking halfback. Kevin Mealamu was outstanding again. Brad Thorn, another solid performance.

I think Ruan Pienaar was South Africas best player though, certainly added some spice to the game and he gets that ball away really quickly.

All Black 16 man effort too strong for 14 man Springbok side

The All Blacks 16 man effort saw them manage a win in wellington after the All Blacks star player, Alain Rolland was instrumental in the All Blacks second success of the tri nations. Rolland sent off Danie Roussow in the first five minutes of play for... Well, no one knows. The Springboks conceded two tries during this period which put the kiss of death on any hopes of a Springbok comeback after Eden Park last week. The Springboks were effectively handicapped from the start of the game by ten points and a missing player.
