1. John Afoa (Ulster) (Can't remember which side he plays)
2.
3. Carl Hayman (Toulon)
4. Brad Thorn (Leinster)
5.
6. Jerry Collins (Yamaha)

12. Luke Macalister (Toulon)
13. Jared Payne (Ulster)
14. Joe Rokocoko (Bayonne)
15. Bruce Reihana (Bordeaux)

About as much as I can manage (and I was really stretching in the forwards)

2. Aled de Malmenche (sp?) - Stade Francais (I think), think hes had a couple of caps for NZ?

That side would be top 3 of the Six Nations.
I'd do a SA exile team, but can't be bothered right now. Time for resting.

Well that's a pretty average team. If they were playing the 6N I don't think they could make more then two or three grand slams in a row.

1. Gethin Jenking
2.
3. Carl Hayman
4. Bakkies Botha
5. Simon Shaw
6. Joe Van Niekerk
7. Steffon Armitage
8. Juan Fernandez Lobbe
9. Matt Henjak
10. Jonny Wilkinson
11. David Smith
12. Matt Giteau
13. Gabiriele Lovobalavu
14. Christian Loamanu
15. Luke Rooney

That's a team of exiles now playing for Toulon (except for a hooker, all for of them are french). Do you think there's a point where it becomes too much?

When it looks like you've stolen a teamsheet from the BaaBaas, then yeah, it might be a little bit too much...

I'd fancy this side against South Africa.

Brent Russell over Goosen or Gerber ;)

yes, but Russell is back in South Africa now, I was struggling to add backs to this team to be honest

here's one for Australia

1. ?
2. Huia Edmonds (Gloucester)
3. Dayna Edwards (Grenoble)
4. Mitchell Chapman (NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes)
5. Dean Mumm (Exeter)
6. Julian Salvi (Leicester)
7. George Smith (Suntory Sungoliath)
8. David Lyons (Stade Français)
9. Luke Burgess (Toulouse)
10. Brock James (Clermont)

12. Matt Giteau (Toulon)
13. Morgan Turinui (Stade Français)
14. Blair Connor (Bordeaux-Bègles)

Out of interest, how is Flouw doing at Bath?

You can also add Stefan Watermeyer, Danie Rossouw, Richardt Strauss, Peter Dixon, Shaun Sowerby, Michael Claasen, Niel de Kock, Doppies La Grange, Andre Pretorius and even Sarel Pretorius...

Richardt Strauss is going to be Irish in a few months. One day his accent will change from a Pretoria one to a D4 one in a split second...

Does BJ Botha have the plague or something?

I'm curious to see if you can update this - Bowe, Wilson and Stevenson all in Ulster, McMillan (I think) and Casey retired, Downey in Munster, Moore and Tonetti in Connacht, Browne in Leinster, Brookes is now quite definitely English and ... oh wait, it's the other Ryan who's now an American, although I'm surprised Tim doesn't join. Lot of players gone, difficult to think of too many replacements (who aren't ****).

So we always hear our southern neighbours go on about how strong their teams made up of players playing abroad would be (and rightly so) but how strong a team could your own nation feed if forced to draw from outside its realms? Could you even field a XV?

Here's my go:

15) Geordan Murphy Leicester
14) Tommy Bowe Ospreys
13) James Downey Northampton
12) Kyle Tonnetti Sale
11) David Connellan Stade Aurillacois Cantal Auvergne
10) Garreth Steenson Exeter
9) Dave Moore Harlequins
8)Roger Wilson Northampton
7) Neil McMillan Sale
6) Neil Best Worchester
5) Tommy Hayes Exeter
4) Bob Casey London Irish
3) Tim Ryan Newcastle
2) Brian Blaney London Irish
1) Kieran Bookes Newcastle

16) Ruaidhri Murphy Exeter
17)
18)
19) Lewis Stevenson Harlequins
20) Damien Browne Brive
21)
22) Jeremy Staunton Leicester
23) Paul McKenzie Exeter

Others:
David Gannon
Eoin Grace
Eoghan Hickey
David McGowan

Best I could do. A winger and a scrum half would be much appreciated! It's actually an alrightish team. 2nd rows are okay, backs are fine, flyhalf cover is good. Front row is a major weakness but that's hardly a surprise.

I've got time to waste. Let's do this.

1. Rhys Gill (Saracens)
2. Marc Jones (Sale)
3. Eifron Lewis-Roberts (Toulon/Sale)
4. Luke Charteris (Perpignan)
5. Dom Day (Bath)
6. Andy Powell (Sale)
7. ?
8. Gareth Delve (Rebels)

9. Dwyane Peel (Sale)
10. Nicky Robinson (Wasps)
11. Shane Williams (Japan)
12. James Hook (Perpignan)
13. Steve Shingler (London Irish)
14. Aled Brew (Biarritz)
15. Lee Byrne (Clermont)

Bugger. Would certainly be a different looking team!

15) Geordan Murphy - Leicester Tigers
14) Niall Morris - Leicester Tigers
13) Eamonn Sheridan - Rotherham
12) Ian Whitten - Exeter
11) Shane Monahan - Gloucester
10) Ian Humphreys - London Irish
9) Tomas O'Leary - London Irish
8) ????
7) Robin Copeland - Cardiff
6) Neil Best - Worcester
5) Ryan Caldwell - Bath
4) Tommy Hayes - Exeter
3) John Andress - Exeter
2) ????
1) Michael Bent - Taranaki

EDIT: Actually, it's not as bad a side as I had feared. The half backs are a lot better, and Caldwell is a good replacement for Casey. The back row looks poor enough though.

Denis Fogarty (Aurillac) can be the hooker,

you could also reunite the props Bryan Young (Cavalieri Prato) and Tony Buckley (Sale) who you named in your "worst Ireland team of the decade" in this team, ;)

if not then the only change I would make would be Ruaidhri Murphy for Bent, Murphy has played in all but one of the Brumbies games this year, and made 4 starts, Michael Bent hasn't made a single start and just 6 bench appearances this season for the Hurricanes and hasn't even got on the bench for 2 months now
