Scotland v Wales

If it weren't for the the Scottish mistakes it'd be a much closer game. The Scottish back row are doing quite well against the Welsh tight offloading game, and the Welsh themselves aren't using the width that I'd have thought would have given them at least another try. The Scots are mistaken in what they're doing though. The need to keep it tight and draw some of the midfield in, because at the moment the Welsh are swallowing them up, and they don't have the chance to go wide. If the Scots keep passing it out too early they're just going to be running into the Welsh centres with no chance of getting past them.

that's the thing you're never gonna hit the ground running in a match like this, most of those players have 1 eye on next week.

The BBC being as (un)helpful as ever by making sure we know that its Scotland vs Wales in the middle of the action..

..brilliant offload by Shane Williams.

If that offload wasn't forward then what a brilliant score! Wales are going to run away with it now. And what a brilliant initial break from Roberts.

What a tackle by Southwell on AWJ. Try there and it could've been embarrassing... It's still heading that way though. Scrum five and Scotland are having nightmares in this area.

Scotland actually break away and knock it ont (though it was a good tap tackle from Jenkins on Southwell..)
Brainless kick from Lee Byrne. Rolland said very clearly 'passed back in [to the 22]'. Scotland on the attack again in the 22.

Charvis sounds like he's reading that from a script, one too many big hits taking their toll?

Colin Charvis looking as comfortable as George Bush at Mecca...

..anyone notice Mike Phillips looking really, really lazy with his distribution. Taking a good few steps before passing and so on?

well it is embarrassing, even now.

quality tap tackle there, but not a huge amount of conviction shown by Southwell

26% to 74% posedssion wise and...*gasp!* the best player in the whole wide world ever in a rare kicking mistake!

The fact he's taking eighteen steps before passing is all I can fault Phillips for so far.

Scotland really are missing Thom Evans here. Thats the second biggest selection gaffe this weekend...
