tbf, he's defence and backs coach, not sure how much that means he was involved in attack. Hoping Lancaster will still add a specialist attack coach.

Now that finally Lancaster was starting to accept Owen Farrell's mediocrity, daddy is back to put things in order. Bad news for Flood; England will go on playing with the worst tier 1 fly half by far (sorry, Morne). Doors closed also for George Ford. Hopefully Farrell Jr. will continue showing his lack of skills on a regular basis and Lancaster/Farrell won't be able to protect him for long.
Flood is a very good player, Ford will be a star, Burns will be great, Hodgson or Lamb are average and Farrell is just awful.

If Ford makes it to the England 10 spot sometime soon he'll surely be one of the smallest international fly-halves out there. I suppose it's mitigated by having a pretty low centre of gravity.

With respect to Farrell I feel very strongly that peoples initial acceptance of him in the International arena smacks of fans and journalists simply wanting another Johnny Wilkinson 'golden boy' type. People soon realised he was very ugly and from Wigan.

In seriousness, Farrell was passable for England as long as his kicking (tactical and goal) were accurate, and he was tackling around. He didn't have the other skills to compensate for it when his kicking went pear-shaped in South Africa, whereas many other fly halves have another element to their game. As soon as Farrells kicking and decision making went, he was found out instantly.

Saying this, I agree with Psychic Duck and feel Farrell will only improve with time, and I think many club teams would welcome him as a player.

Not that surprised to see Charlie go as he would be finding hard to make the first team now, given daddy is back in the fold.

Semi good news that it opens up another spot if Flood/Farrell are unable to play.

Very disappointed in this move. That said, everytime I express disappointment in the Lancaster regime, it usually does ok, so time to keep griping I guess...

Also, good luck to Charlie and Lee. Willing servants, time to move on.

edit: Apparently George Ford is already bigger than Greig Laidlaw. Make of that what you will.

I wonder how many clubs in the Premiership would want him as their starting 10 in the Premiership?

Farrell's position hasn't been stated yet, hopefully Lancaster will use him as a defence coach. Reading the press release Lancaster states "

As I said the other day, I will continue to review the make-up of the coaching team over the next few weeks to ensure that England has the best structure and personnel." so hopefully that means he wants to bring an attack coach in.​
