Where did all of the other South African posters go? I'm the only one here lately. Gay.

Maybe some of the posters use MWEB?

We have got 2 members covered, rugbywriter is banned and SavageLez is having an identity crises.
On the team...

Obviously the stand-out selections are JdV and Januarie, and the lack of Aplon.
But for me, Im surprised that Louw is still starting, would have preferred to give Potgeiter the chance.
I hate how good, young players that already have the experience of being in the Bok camp (Kankowski, Potgeiter and Beast) are being kept as bench cover. Would it not be better for them to get game-time in the Currie Cup?

And yes part of this statement is based on the fact that most of the bench cover are Sharks players, and that I am bitter and want them to come and play for the Sharks.
Like with Kanko, it is stagnating his skillz development, and I personally think he is worse than he was in 2008

I have decided my predictions shall only be based on the Fantasy League thing.

Well done Blacks, on the day to quick, to strong, to smart, way hungirier. Hope the Boks turn up for the next game, or it will be a role reversal of last year.

This is the thread for the next game! But totally agree, we just didn't pitch, we never had any intension of winning which is something us Bok fans are not used to.

We need to sort out the lineouts, our support play (as always) and our tactical kicking. We don't have the right players to execute the gameplan PdV is trying employ, especially the kick and chase fiasco last Saturday. And what was up with the defense? Whenever the AB's passed the ball down the line there was holes everywhere with players getting overlapped.

Ironically I think that has been one of our strengths for the passed 2 seasons, with so many experienced players the team has been making the right noises. Like PdV says, you don't become a bad team over night. We'll be more focused this week I'm sure.

Saw on the news last night, Ranger was set to step up before Rokocoko but then the coaches delayed naming the team to give him more time.. and now Donnelly has joined the injured list, he had to sit out training yesterday with Jimmy Cowan..

I would love for Ranger to start on the wing... he bust's through tacklers like nothing, he is a very strong player and having him on the wing would be great since he is greedy and doesn't need to pass to anyone on the wing.

Sad to hear Tom is injured.

Are there any South Africans who see a good outcome next saturday now that we are missing Botha, du Preez and the du Plessis-brothers and still have to do without Francois Steyn?

I don't know where you got 80kg from for Conrad Smith, I'm pretty sure he is 95kg. He is my favourite player, I thought he was very impressive and was pretty direct when it needed to be and he seemed to hold his own against South African forwards very well.

By the sounds of it Rococoko is unlikely to be fit, while Cowan is probably 50/50. If Rococoko is ruled out it will be interesting to see how Ranger goes on the wing - at the moment wing is, in my opinion, his best position. Not sure who Henry and co. will move up onto the bench out of Dagg and Guildford (or even Stanley) - Dagg would be the obvious choice as he has been in the squad all along (and has the ability to add a lot of impact from the bench), but I just have a feeling they may include Guildford.

I sure hope they go with Dagg/Ranger rather than Guildford/Stanley, if Roks is injured.

I just don't find the latter two very exciting, nor consistently reliable.

Hopefully they don't do that Kapa O Pango Haka for this game. We can't seem to win when they do that one. The Boks need to move forward or something if they do, because they look scared with the heavy breathing. I don't blame them though.

Also, Danie Rossouw looks to miss the game with a calf strain. Bekker should fill in.

Hehe, secured my tickets to this game!

Well, I won't have another moan about Hosea Gear missing out, so I'll talk about something else.

How's Rene Ranger's catching? I know Henry wets himself when wingers catch balls, but I don't think this will be Ranger's strong point. I also hope he doesn't drop the ball. If he doesn't make mistakes, he'll be lethal.

Rangers catching off high-balls is ok from what I've seen (though I didn't watch many Northland games last year, and he played mainly at centre for the Blues this year so was not tested). I think he has had a bit of experience at fullback as well, so I suspect he will be adequate. It is his general ball security and decision making that I think needs the most improvement - as you say if he doesn't make mistakes he will be lethal!
