[RWC2019][The Final] England vs. South Africa (02/11/2019)

I think part of what make this game so exciting is

A) The ABs aren't involved.

B) These both youngish teams this could be a matchup for years and this sets the tone of those games.

Here's a full translation of our beautiful Anthem. Let's take these words to heart going into the weekend ♥️ #strongertogether #southafrica #springboks

Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika (God bless Africa)
Maluphakanyisw' uphondo lwayo (May her glory be lifted high)
Yizwa imithandazo yethu (Hear our prayers)
Nkosi sikelela, thina lusapho Iwayo (God bless us, your children)
Morena boloka setjhaba sa heso (God we ask You to protect our nation)
O fedise dintwa le matshwenyeho (Intervene and end all conflicts)
O se boloke, O se boloke setjhaba sa heso (Protect us, protect our nation)
Setjhaba sa, South Afrika, South Afrika (Protect South Africa, South Africa)
Uit die blou van onse hemel (Out of the blue from our heavens)
Uit die diepte van ons see (From the depths of our seas)
Oor ons ewige gebergtes (Over our everlasting mountains)
Waar die kranse antwoord gee (Where the echoing cliffs resound)
Sounds the call to come together
And united we shall stand
Let us live and strive for freedom
In South Africa our land!
Thanks for the translation. Great sentiments in there. Arguably a little more inclusive than simply asking the Devine to look after our favourite Granny. But she is an awesome granny

Ben's out thier in few view! Quick hide him in the dressing room!

UK coverage starting

T- 2 hours
Currently way, way too confident.
Spent the morning rewatching the semi-final. Really pumped after watching ours, even theirs couldn't send me back to sleep (though I must admit skipping forward pretty frequently - whole thing lasted about an hour)

May the best team win. Hoping for a good game and a win for England

My team is out, but i'm edging towards South Africa for the sake of the country.

A few random thoughts ahead of the game:

SA have never lost a WC knockout game to a NH side and never lost a WC final. Then again, England had never beaten NZ in a WC until last week.

Win or lose, when interviewed after the game, Owen Farrell will say, "Yeah, no, it's been brilliant."

What part will drop goals play, if any? Stransky in 95 and Wilkinson in 03 won the cup with drops, and De Beer booted England out of the tournament in 99 with drops. There's history there.

England have had no cards yet in this tournament, really hope they don't break that sequence today...

Don't forget Larkham's drop goal to boot South Africa out in '99.

Left the house at 7am to meet teammates in a pub over an hour away. All this for a group most of whom will be supporting SA out of pure ABE spite...it's **** like this that makes England wins so sweet

Can't get too battered as I have a heavily pregnant wife at home but ... we'll see. Hopefully the little fella's born into a world where England are world champions.

Picking a mate up at 7.35. Breakfast then beers. Living in South Wales, our options are limited.
I imagine nowhere's showing it?

The rugby can be viewed online, if you know where to look. Quite a few free offerings :)

Come on England, today is your day, take it to them. Go out there and play for the supporters, for your families, for the nation, but most of all play for each other, look around you, you know the hard work and effort that your team mates have put in you know the outcome is in your hands.

When you think there is no more in the tank, think about all the guy's that have put a full week's work in and have then turned out for their club, week in week out, they are their with you, every scrum, ruck, maul or line-out they are behind you.

Go out today and play your game, the rest will follow.

Simmer down, Clive.

This is it South Africans, from being the laughing stock of World Rugby in the last two years, to today. How times have changed. We're in the Final and we haven't even played our best yet. Today may it be that day. God bless every South African in the World, may we equal New Zealand today.

If anyone want to claim of English bias the last 30mins has all been SA. We've even had to watch 2007 and 1999 highlights!

It's a final, predictions are for nought and all bets are off (you know, except for the actual betting).

Hoping for a good game and an England victory but whoever comes out on top will be worthy winners.

Just glad a very long day yesterday left me so tired that sleep was not a problem.
